January 11th, 2019: Two new minarai from Miyagawa Cho have begun their journeys to become maiko today. Kanaemi (叶笑) of Kawahisa (川久) (left) and Fukunori (ふく典) of Shigemori (しげ森) (right) made their round of introductions today, and will continue to wear a houmongi and handara obi for the next three days before switching to the usual maiko attire. Both girls will be having their misedashi in February, with Kanaemi celebrating on February 25th.
