I worry about asking this as I worry about your inbox, but it's like Obi Wan Joy, you're the only one I really trust on this. I have a kitty! And I love citrus scents, but I would like to confirm that using a diffuser for citrus scents would be really bad for her? Along with incense? Would citrus flavored candles be okay? Does the type of candle matter (soy vs paraffin etc)? (I'm new to using scents so I apologize for the trouble!) Thank you for your time.

Haha, not a problem. I’m likely going to have to shut my inbox off tonight so I can catch up with all the questions this week, but it’s nice to be talking to people again :)

And cats tend to not like citrus if I recall, so you might find she suddenly doesn’t want to be in a room where you have citrus stuff running.

I know they’re not supposed to eat them, but I also know they have to eat a LOT of it to get super sick from it, so I think as long as you weren’t over doing it, and were keeping an eye out for any changes in her behavior (lethargy, off her food, not drinking etc) it would be okay. As a general rule I try to avoid paraffin candles because they’re not so great for us humans either. Soy, beeswax or a blend of the two, are healthier in terms of air pollutants. Incense smoke is also not the best for little kitty lungs, so if you are burning any, make sure it’s in a space she isn’t going to be in.

When we have pets in the house, I never burn incense, and nor do I use my air diffuser in any rooms where the animals might be. They can’t tell me “hey that shit is eye watering/hurting my chest, cut it out”, and what some people think of as “aw my pet is really relaxed by this!” is actually the pet laying down in a stupor because their kidneys and lungs are starting to struggle and their solution is to take a nap. Tea tree oil is particularly toxic to dogs and cats, and cats are also very sensitive to lavender, so don’t let it get on their fur or paws. And absolutely never “freshen” their beds by putting a few drops of EO on it. Every time that post goes over my dash I have to fight down the urge to haul off with an axe.

Some people will likely chime in to tell me I’m being overly cautious, but this is just my personal level of comfort and how I do things, based on my knowledge and experience. Hope that helps :)

Have a crack hc: Lang jingyi has a side gig as a romance writer and is one of the top selling authors. He edits it but yes, most of the cuteness comes from WWX and LZ. People love his writing as it’s lighthearted fun cultivator adventures with extremely touching romance. JL and LSZ find out after LJY drunkenly brags about it. He hides from Lan Zhan for days before being forced to write the final book for the series with the sappiest ending ever. (Wwx buys the whole series to tease LZ with it)

Ahhh, had I really not reblogged any of it before? (Or maybe I tagged it something different, still have no idea what to call it. “Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation” is long and kind of inaccurate, but “Mo Dao Zu Shi” will not stick in my head ^^;)

–Anyway, yes @gnine2  and I watched the donghua a little after Guardian, around when the last eps dropped, and I read the novel (in its various English translations) over the holidays. I haven’t really poked my nose into the fandom proper (Guardian is still my main squeeze in terms of fanning) but it’s a ton of fun, I’m looking forward to getting more of the donghua, and curious about the drama…(seriously, how are they going to take the romance out of this one? Guardian was bad enough, but the MDZS adaptation is actually following the plot, and for all the epic fantasy plot stuff, that climax is…not going to be the same without the ship? And by the same I mean “beautifully inappropriately hilarious”…)

(If you’re wondering, I am very boring and ship the canon couple. Poor, poor Lan Wangji. Also poor Wei Wuxian of course – even by Asian entertainment standards his life is traumatic. And he’s such an adorably fluffy necromancer!)

May I ask how your job is digging you deeper into debt? Either way, good luck! You're leaving soon right??

It’s complicated but boils down to 2 things:

1. My contract at my first job was designed to discourage people from breaking it and leaving early. To make a complex thing simple, basically part of my salary plus my signing bonus were considered to be a loan that I would pay back with my service. If I stayed there 3 years, the loan was worked off. If I broke it early, I would owe some of it back, with the amount prorated for however long I stayed. It’s kind of like indentured servitude. So that comes down to about $35,000 if the hospital has figured it correctly, which you can be dang sure I’m checking on.

2. I can’t start my new job until I have “tail coverage” insurance. This is malpractice insurance that is bought when you change jobs to cover you in case a patient from your old job decides to sue you. My new job had agreed to pay for this. Until they got the estimate and they just up and decided that it was too much and they just called me to finalize my contract and dropped the bomb on me that I’ll have to pay about $12,500 for that tail coverage before I can start work.

So yeah. Medical school already had me waaaayyyyyy in debt, and now my job is making it worse. 

And yes, I’m leaving soon! 63 days!

i am so emotionally attached to so many one piece characters and honestly my fave seems to rotate on the daily. i feel like i should say zoro, but characters like ace and sabo exist so im just absolutely stuck 

i guess i should just take a hail mary shot right now and just say whoever comes into my mind so ONE TWO THREE THE GOAT HERMIT

as for spending a day with a one piece character, i’d spend a day with sabo. saboob. the bodacious blond babe. in all seriousness though, i’d honestly love to see what he does with the Revolutionary Army up-close and personal. i also feel like he could introduce me to lots of great freakin’ books. ALSO spending a day with sabo would also mean spending a day with koala ;))) i love her so much please always protect her
