"Uhhh---" There's no reason for him to try to bluff; Lorina knew him well enough. "Yeah I was. See, what happened was---" he began but knew she'd see right through his excuses. "I ate all of it in my cabinet." A shy, nervous laugh.
Lorina's laugh mixed with Pascal’s as she shook her head. “Just sit down,” She nudged her head to the seat across from her. “--- Well, bring a bowl and the milk first.” There was no point in him sitting down and eating the cereal without the above. Lorina still couldn’t believe how like family Pascal had become. “I’ll buy you some more when I go shopping later.” She was basically buying food for herself, her husband, her son --- and now Pascal too.
