Yeah, I’m not sure if they’d consider the books to be canon. :/ I think the idea of a forgotten Doctor or the Valeyard would be kewlio~

I...have no idea if they are considered canon. I think they are but I'm not sure. SAMI, ARE THEY CONSIDERED CANON? or as canon as a show like DW can get? 

and I agree, I've always loved the Valeyard, I just don't want it at the expense of Eight. (also idk if I want Moffat touching the Valeyard but I'm pretty anit-moffat so theres that)

No he did. There's a whole series of Eight audio books that I'm pretty sure are considere canon. I've never read/listened to them myself, but a shit ton of my tumblr friends have and I've seen their liveblogging, and Eight definitely experiences the Time War in them. If I'm not mistaken, he was the one that made the choice to time lock Gallifrey.

Why would it?

Because of above. If I understand the implications of John Hurts doctor, he will technically be 'nine' and was forgotten because of his choices in the Time War and Eccleston would have really been Ten, and Tennant was Eleven, and Smith is Twelve.

no i dont think that was meant at all james potter is harrys real father. what it meant to portray is snape had feelings for harrys mother

I guess I just thought there were some hints in the conversation between Dumbledoor and Snape that alluded to Harry being a lovechild or something. Maybe that's just me projecting what I would have preferred? I didn't really like what was shown of James. And Snape was always so complex and interesting.
