Chimeric Idols

As my magnificent art selection (Curse of the Fire Penguin, for the uninitiated) undoubtedly suggests, this contest is to be treated with the utmost stoicism and gravitas. A moment of silence, if you will join me.

...Okay! Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s get a bit silly. Since the beginning of time, and by that, I of course mean 1993, Magic designers have reveled in the craft, nay, the art, of taking two old Magic cards and just kinda smooshing them together to create another, newer Magic card. This process has spawned such classics as Syncopate (it’s a Power Sink plus a Dissipate!) as well as basically every card from the Invasion or Time Spiral blocks (seriously, this is how they made, like, half the cards in those sets, I swear.) I wish for you, humble contestant, to embody this spirit, embrace this art form, become consumed by this fire penguin. Grab your Camouflage and your Chameleon Spirit and start blending in, because

Your task for this week: Take any two extant Magic cards and combine them into one.

Additionally, in your submission text, please please please please PLEASE specify what cards you used to synthesise your monstrosity. Even if it seems obvious! I want to be absolutely certain that I can appreciate fully how smart and cool and clever you all are, and that gets much more difficult if I do not know what ingredients you used to construct your creation.

I would also encourage you to potentially explore what, exactly, combining two cards might mean. All I require is that each component card has had some noticeable influence on the final product, so, as long as you are doing that, feel free to get a little goofy with it.

Finally, if you are in need of inspiration, you are permitted to CLICK THIS LINK  any number of times. If you choose to do so you will receive one (1) extant Magic card selected entirely at random per click. Have fun!

So i wanted to do an interactive contest like @vikivavavoom and do a fusion contest much like they did previously! 

Rules:

Design a fusion with a gem of yours and any gem of mine

Only one entry per person 

If you’ve designed a fusion previously with a gem of mine you can’t reuse that for this contest, it must be a new fusion! 

Please include a imagine/link to the gem you’ve chosen to fuse with mine

Not mandatory but leaving a few lines about the fusions personality and abilities will help me judge the fusion overall

Tag me in the post so I see it, and if I don’t reblog it that means I haven’t seen it 

Deadline is November 22nd  it is now December 8th

Augite - fusion between Black Pearl and Diopside for @hematite76 's fusion contest :^)

The stone is located directly on the mask (mask as a part of her body). Augite is witty and funny. Everyone is a little afraid of her because of her look, but in fact she is kind and friendly. )))

My entry in @boringartist  ‘s contest, Celestite, a Fusion of Powder Blue Pearl and Howlite. 

They meet on earth, seeing how they are both stuck their. Howlite is being dragged around by a Sapphire and they run into Pearl. At first they dont get along , Pearl assuming that Howlite was a ‘earth-lover’. After a agrument turned into a fight, they talk  and realize that they want the same thing, to get off the earth.

They start to get along, Howlite feeling for Powder being left there.They start planning on ways to get off the planet and Howlite suggest that it may be easier for them to escape if they fuse. At first Pearl is against it, but eventually,with no better option, she tries. Surprisingly, she enjoys it, not only that but together they find a way off earth. 

Celestite is a very secretive, bitchy gem, she knows what she wants and will do anything to get it.

I also drew alittle comic of them fusing because I love drawing Powder blue Pearl so much

This is my entry for @vikivavavoom‘s fusion contest.

This is Mohave Turquoise, a fusion of Kitty and my Lapis ‘Pea’ Lazuli.

She is quite extra. Pea loves to be fused, and her enthusiasm really only adds to Kitty’s extravagant-ness. She also loves to win, or have better things than everyone else, which is a combination of Kitty’s sassiness and Pea’s self doubt being mashed together.

Also, soft catfish. She stretch when she emote.

She can change her arms into whatever she wants, and can shoot the jet of water from both gems, like Pea.  Also, the arms can move around her without restriction. But they can’t move more than 30 ft in front of her.

She’s about the height of Stevonnie, maybe a little taller, if she stands on her toes.

While still unstable, she does manage to keep together due to Pea’s submissive nature.

The Sardonyx Silhouette contest is officially over!!

Okay! so before i do all those big announcements i just wanted to take a moment to remember why i did this. I am currently at 637 followers in this moment! That’s so crazy to me. I know that some of them might be bots, and that some of you follow for my reblogs rather than my art, but truthfully? I’m just glad you’re all here. I cant believe i made it this far, but i didn't make it by myself either. I’ve had so many people inspire and help me through this. Heck some of my inspirations FOLLOW me, i mean thats CRAZY. 

So back to the contest. Here’s the finished design. 

Keep in mind that this contest was not about who drew the best, or who’s design i thought was prettiest. This contest was about ACCURACY with what i gave you. ((And i also asked a third party, my sister, to help me decide so there wasnt any bias)) Without further adue, here are the winners...

Aha a third place option? But how? Well, i actually had a secret prize in mind if you so choose to accept it. But seriously i really loved your design and although it may not have been the most accurate, it was really cool because i could see myself coming up with something like that!

Your design was, in my opinion, closer than you thought! My sister poiunted out some of the smaller details that you’ve got going on there such as being the only entree to have the full lips, and ((on a technical level lmao)) one glove on the right arm! You also got the boots pretty accurate design-wise ((although in my book i PREFER your boots))

Now i gotta say, yours truly shook me to the core. Not only was it such a good design on it’s own, but you got the shoulder pad VERY close, and that skirt is also very similar to the design i made. The one thing that stood out to me however were those eyes. Those eyes are the exact same eyes i had in mind for my fusion from DAY ONE and I’ve kept it like that ever since. And somehow you were able to PERFECTLY mimic them, albeit without the bangs. Great Job.
