I took this photo last winter at Rishiri Island in Hokkaido. It was a shoot for @thenorthfacejp ‘s new movie “The Kingdom of Snow”. I joined their shoot at Hakuba as well. 海から空へ、空から山へ。水の惑星、地球。そのすべての場所でおこる水分の移動、そして奇跡のように生成される雪。その雪に深く覆われる日本の山々には雪を追い、雪に生きる人達がいる。
「Kingdom of Snow」 @thenorthfacejp が公開したこの映像作品。そんな雪追い人のお話です。 昨シーズンは、白馬と利尻島で撮影に参加させてもらいました。ありがとうございました！

From the sea to the sky, from the sky to mountains. Water changes its state depending on environment, and snow is miraculously made in that process. Deep inside Japanese snowy mountains, people chases snow and lives for it.
[Kingdom of Snow] is a movie about the mountains and those people… I am so proud to be a part of this project as a photographer. Thanks @thenorthfacejp @rightup_inc
