Wells Meet's His Future Self
The gold tunnel didn’t roar open.
It just… waited.
Wells stepped through without hesitation.
And stopped.
Because standing there wasn’t some myth, some god, some challenge to fight.
It was him.
Mid-30s. Bigger everywhere. Broader chest, thicker arms, heavier beard. A full muscle-bear evolution of everything Wells already was. Same green eyes. Same cocky grin.
Just… finished.
Future Wells looked him over slowly, arms crossed over a thicker, heavier chest.
Then smirked.
“You’re the early build.”
Wells raised an eyebrow.
“Early build?” he echoed.
The older version stepped closer, solid, grounded, overwhelming in presence.
“Yeah. Before the real size kicks in. Before the strength sticks. Before you stop looking like potential… and start looking like a problem.”
Wells let out a short laugh, shaking his head as he looked him up and down again.
“Damn… so I bulk into a full-on boss fight, huh?” he muttered. “What is this, endgame Wells? Unlockable character after 100% completion?”
Future Wells’ grin widened.
“Only if you earn it.”
That landed.
Wells’ expression sharpened, not doubt, not hesitation. Focus.
“No shortcuts,” the older version continued. “Every lift. Every meal. Every day you don’t feel like it.”
A firm hand on his shoulder.
“You get me if you do.”
A pause. A nod.
“And trust me… you’re not even close yet.”
The tunnel collapsed.
And back in the gym, Wells didn’t hesitate.
He loaded more weight onto the bar.
