The sound of Ivy’s pumps clicked down the airport ramp as she stepped off her plane. The last time she’d seen this airport was when she packed up everything she owned and set sail for New York years ago, with nothing but the excitement of her new job motivating her. But now she was back and even though she thought as if she was a completely new person, this town always would have a way of making her feel nineteen again. With her suit-case in hand, rolling behind her, she took out her phone and began to text her old friend Owen, whom she had previously asked to pick her up. Her surroundings hadn’t changed one bit, same gift store, same coffee shop, same sickening airport food. It was as if New Quinton was stuck in time and it made her wonder which of her old friends were too. As she made her way to the entrance she passed by a man covered in ink with a beanie hiding his hair, and the memory of Daniel ran through her mind. She wondered if he’d even come to something like this, she didn’t even quite know why she agreed to this. The automatic doors slide open and Ivy stepped out into the warm air, despite it being November, anything seemed warmer than the city right now. Her head turned side to side looking for anything similar too the Owen she remembered and she felt excitement bubble in her stomach when she thought she had spotted him.
