Marjorie Taylor Greene Bashes Biden for Bringing DOWN Gas Prices, Ted Lieu Claps Back Brilliantly

Yes, Marjorie Taylor Green is unhappy about falling gas prices.

Now gas prices have fallen considerably. They now average about $3.44 per gallon nationwide, which is equal to where they were two years ago. That's down from a high of $5.02 in June of 2022. And even though prices fell each month for the remainder of last year, the GOP furiously condemned Biden as being responsible for the high prices and criticized him for not bringing them down.

On Friday on the floor of the House of Representatives, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-QAnon) sought to make gas prices an issue again. But this time she was appalled that Biden had taken measures to lower gas prices. How dare Biden make the cost of living more affordable for the American people? This debate was centered around her amendment (which later lost by a landslide 14 to 418 vote) to place restrictions on when and how a president can utilize the Strategic Petroleum Reserves.

She doesn’t really care about the gas price. She is emo that she lost an issue to use against Biden.

It's a welcome surprise to see Greene actually admit that Biden lowered gas prices, even though she somehow intended it to be a criticism. To be clear, Greene only wants to make sure that Biden is castigated for gas prices when they are high, and also when he successfully manages to lower them. It's a lose-lose proposition. 

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA-36) is a living national treasure. His ability to take down Trump Republicans is exceptional.

“There's another reason this Republican bill is so stupid. Because not only did Joe Biden lower your gas prices, the United States of America made a profit on it. Buy low, sell high. It was brilliant what Joe Biden did. He released the Strategic Petroleum Reserves when gas prices were high, and that helped lower the gas prices. And then he refilled it at the lower amount. The U.S. made $4 billion dollars on Joe Biden's actions. The Republicans always want to say 'Let's run government like a business.' Joe Biden did exactly that when he lowered your gas prices, and then made a $4 billion dollar profit for the United States of America.”

You read that correctly. Biden made $4 billion in profits for the US. Of course the GOP would probably like to give that to their donors in the form of tax breaks for the filthy rich.

MTG is allegedly maneuvering to become Trump’s running mate in 2024. With performances like this, she’s trying to prove that she has sufficient stupidity for the position. So far that shouldn’t be a problem for her.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-14-GA) and some others on the far right are fawning all over that incel leaker Jack Teixeira. They may try to make him the new Kyle Rittenhouse. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-14-CA) had an appropriate response to Greene.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) slammed Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) over her comments defending Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, who was arrested Thursday for his alleged role in leaking Pentagon files.

“McCarthy’s top lieutenant is siding with one of the biggest traitors America has seen,” Swalwell wrote in a tweet on Thursday.

“I’m sorry, Marge, being white, male, and Christian is not license to betray your country and put the lives of thousands at risk,” he added. “But this wouldn’t be the first time she sided with traitors.”

“Jake Teixeira is white, male, christian, and antiwar. That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime,” Greene wrote in a Twitter post. “Ask yourself who is the real enemy? A young low level national guardsmen? Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, against nuclear Russia without war powers?”

Teixeira, 21, was taken into custody by the FBI on Thursday, according to the Justice Department.

His arrest comes as a slew of apparent Pentagon documents appeared online in recent days, with some including confidential information on U.S. and NATO support to Ukraine amid the sovereign country’s ongoing war with Russia and others including information apparently collected through spying on allies such as Israel and South Korea.

Greene is a Trump lickspittle. Until last week’s indictment, Trump has gotten away with everything because he’s white, male, (superficially) Christian, AND filthy rich. So it’s natural that she would be drawn to such dregs – even if though she misspelled his first name.

One of Greene’s nicknames is Majorie Traitor Greene. So applauding somebody who doesn’t care about endangering US national security is in keeping with her reputation.

There’s another reason Greene is drawn to Teixeira: racism. The Washington Post reports:

Some Discord members showed The Washington Post video of Teixeira shouting racist and antisemitic slurs before firing a rifle. Like some others interviewed for this story, they spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

I have no sympathy for Teixeira. He disgraced the Air National Guard which did excellent work in NYC during the height of the pandemic. And of course he’s a traitor – regardless of his reasons for pilfering and electronically circulating the documents.

Teixeira was recruited late in the Trump administration when standards may have been lower.

After he serves a few decades in a US prison, perhaps other countries whose security may have been compromised will seek to have him extradited.

Kudos to the FBI for finding the culprit rather quickly. 🏅

Whenever possible, get Republican candidates to go on record about whether they favor defunding the FBI. Don’t let them change the subject. Demand an unambiguous reply from them. If they absolutely won’t answer, then say: “You obviously refuse to defend law enforcement!”

Make them pay for their endless groveling to Trump gangsterism.

Twitter bans Marjorie Taylor Greene's personal account over COVID misinformation

A spokesperson for the social media company said it had been clear that it would ban accounts for repeated violations of its COVID-19 misinformation policy.

Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s personal Twitter account has been permanently suspended (effectively banned) for spreading COVID-19 misinformation. Though her US House related account is not affected.

Greene, in a statement following her Twitter suspension, said Twitter was an "enemy to America and can't handle the truth."

"That's fine, I'll show America we don't need them and it's time to defeat our enemies," she said.

"Social media platforms can't stop the truth from being spread far and wide. Big Tech can't stop the truth. Communist Democrats can't stop the truth," she added.

Twitter accounts with five or more "strikes" face a permanent suspension from the platform, according to Twitter policies.

Nice, Twitter. But Greene is not exactly the only person or even the only member of Congress actively spreading dangerous misinformation on your platform. Banning Greene is a classic example of just going after low hanging fruit.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy plays footsie with the deranged Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14) because he understands that the GOP has become the political home for conspiracy theorists and pro-Trump terrorists -- as well as the usual religious extremists, greedy billionaires, and purveyors of pseudo-science.

The Republican Party is too far gone. Reform from the inside is impossible because the cowering majority becomes increasingly fearful of the far right fringe to permit any hint of sanity.
