I'm not the only one who thinks that Gale might be Autistic (which makes me love him all the more, Autist to Autist) but may I submit for your consideration: Lae'zel is also a little autism coded. I do realize that a lot of it is just because she's in a new place and culture, but the way she misunderstands jokes at first, the way she likes to infodump about her culture and just the general struggle with Faerun social norms is just so relatable. This fact is also why Gale'zel is one of my favorite ships and why Bae'zel is best girl

"I just think there is something VERY funny and sweet about Gale being the most verbose man alive and Lae’zel having negative patience for unnecessary words, but still clearly respecting skill and intelligence. He would infodump about the Weave and she would interrupt him every five seconds, except she is actually listening because she wants to know where the weak points are. He thinks she’s being rude. She thinks this is a perfectly normal conversation.And then Gale would ask about gith culture with genuine curiosity rather than fear or fetishizing it, which I think would get under her skin in a good way. He’d want to know the structure, the history, the logic of it. Lae’zel values competence and seriousness so much, and Gale has both when he gets past the flirting and theatrics."

Okay but Lae'zel and Gale.
Gale 'I like your musk' and Lae'zel 'I want to taste you'. Gale 'I read that the adrenaline from fighting makes you horny' and Lae'zel 'the battle rage is in my blood - and yes'.
Gale taking notes during the ceremorphosis lesson while everyone else is flinching. Lae'zel kicking Elminster out of camp and then pulling Gale up by his collar snarling for him to pull himself together and acknowledge his own power and strength, or so help her she'll throw him into the dirt.
Gale being smart enough to see the zaith'isk for what it is and talking Lae'zel through (or out of) the procedure. Lae'zel and Tara bonding over killing animals and bringing them to Gale to cook (Tara's not even going to be mad that Gale would prioritise a boar over a pigeon).
Gale apologising for being monogamous after all he's been through, and Lae'zel being 'no-one else can have what is mine, I will not share or be shared with anyone but you'. Battle buffs and fireballs.

Gale and Lae'zel huh? I do see them as amazingly good long lasting friends..even when Lae'zel is off fightingh her freedom war , I imagine her having long talks with Gale over some magic stone spell of sorts. (idea for sketch later?)
