The Sims 4 New Game Patch (January 28th, 2025)

There is a new emergency patch for The Sims 4, regarding a few bugs.

If you have auto updates enabled in Origin’s “Application Settings”, the game will auto-update once you open Origin. If you have auto-updates disabled, you will need to manually update by clicking the game in your library.

To ensure your game is up to date, check the game version found in Documents > EA > The Sims 4 > GameVersion.txt. Your game should now read: PC: 1.112.519.1020 / Mac: 1.112.519.1220; Console: 2.06

This update covers a series of quick fixes for issues reported on the previous update.

Bug Fixes & Updates

Base Game:

[EA Forums] Addressed multiple cases where festival objects from different events (Romance, Flea Market, Spice, and Humor and Hijinks) overlapped on lots in San Myshuno. Additionally, rogue objects such as coffee cups, plates, flowers, cupcakes, crates, and boxes will no longer appear randomly floating or scattered around the city.

Fixed an issue where the full-body outfit (ymBody_SP60RobeBoxers) was wearable for female Sims.

[AHQ] Casanova Cave Top (ymTop_SP60Vest) now tucks in properly.

We missed these in the last patch notes!

Hovertips will show up a bit quicker when moving your mouse around the HUD.

Lessons Improvements: fixed side bar indentation and linking issues.

You can now update traits and aspirations after finishing Create a Sim Stories.

A couple of travel improvements! You can click on your Sim to travel, and the interaction has been moved up in your phone.

Grim has a new ghastly look! His tattered robe has additional detail, exposing his skeletal ribcage, and he has skeleton fingers to match.

Base Game & Affecting Multiple Packs:

[EA Forums] Clutter items that were not showing up under the clutter tag in Build Mode have been fixed. Let there be clutter!

I spent all this time screaming at my computer, nearly punching the monitor, almost crying, hyperventilating, and losing my mind because y'all think it's cool for Sebastian's entire quest to be 95% eight-legged bastards while he levioso's them at me and they burrow up from the ground under my skirt (and let's not even BEGIN to talk about that crazy lady who bred spiders all over her basement...)... and NOW you do this?

Please, for the love of all that is holy, ADD EXPLAINATIONS FOR HOW KING SALMONIDS ARE BEATEN IN THE SPLATOON 3: SALMON RUN NEXT WAVE TUTORIAL!

I am so SICK of not being able to beat king salmonids, I demoted myself to make it easier, because maybe I thought “maybe it’s the difficulty that adjusts the king salmonid strength” but no! The team members I always get paired up with just straight up DON’T KNOW that you have to throw golden eggs at the king salmonid to beat it in time!

I just finished an Xtrawave and I was apparently the ONLY player shooting golden eggs at the king salmonid! I’ve only managed to beat one king salmonid, every time after that was either crew wipe, or more commonly, ran out of time.

I don’t know if any Nintendo or even Nintendo of America employees are reading this post. But if you are, by some chance, a Nintendo employee involved in splatoon in some way shape or form (at least in terms of programming, I won’t pretend to know how Nintendo sorts their employees) but if you are pass this along

Please either

1. Make a patch to extend the Xtrawave time limit or weaken cohozuna

Or

2. Add king salmonid/Xtrawave instructions to the Salmon run tutorial, at least make it an optional boss to practice on in the Not-so-Basics

This worked for me:

Uninstall ORIGIN, then REINSTALL it from the origin website.

Mods seem to be working fine so far.

I hope this might help someone.
