#LDJAM theme ideas for rounds 2 and 3...
Underground -- I’ve always wanted to do a top-down game where you build a dungeon (like Dungeon Keeper).
One Resource -- I like the concept of energy being the only currency, and think I could work this into an incremental game somehow.
Leave something behind -- An idea for a poignant game popped into my head: you are a writer, struggling to write some works of art before you grow old and die.
Artificial life -- I’ve always enjoyed artificial life (used to program A.L. organisms in SecondLife), and sure I could come up with something simple for this involving making little organisms and then letting them compete in a sandbox world. Artwork would be the challenge here.
One room -- Making a sequel to Tavern King would be enjoyable; hopefully I could make it more fun than the original.
Stronger together -- No game ideas, but I’d love this to get picked just to aggro Trumpsters.
Your enemy is your weapon -- I’ve had an idea for a while about a game where the character is made up of an adventurer and his intelligent magical sword. It might be fun to make it so the sword is the enemy, and you have to battle temptation for more power.
Control the environment not the characters -- A side-scroller where the character charges ahead in the world, off to face enemies. You have to control the weather and the terrain in order to slow him down (to heal), or give him some advantage (freezing enemies, etc.).
Indirect control -- This could basically be the same as control the environment.
Choose one -- I imagine a simple incremental kingdom-building game where random events happen often and you must choose between two random resolutions to issues. Typically there would be a trade-off with each choice.
Save yourself not the world -- Imagining a game where you must build a rocket, and then decide whether to aim it at an incoming nuclear missile, or use it to escape the planet.
Get me out of here! -- You’re escaping a dungeon and you pass many other cells; you have to decide who to let escape with you.
Infinite Loop -- No ideas, but I think it could lead to some good ideas from others. Maybe an infinite incremental game...
Natural selection -- Basically the same idea as Artificial life.
Light and Dark -- I’ve always had an idea for a game on a circular world, where you can relatively easily run from one side to the other. Maybe you’re a robot who needs to charge on one side and fight shadow monsters on the other.
Fusion -- I love Reactor Incremental, and could always do some tribute to that game.
