Okay so! Our laptop broke! It had been having issues for a long time. The battery didn't charge anymore, the fans would either not turn on or blast at full speed and stay stuck whatever way (so it overheated a lot), some of the keys kept popping off, the clock wouldn't sync anymore no matter what we tried it was always a few seconds off, and probably more we're not remembering.
Anyway that's not even what broke it!!
It's broken because the computer keeps crashing. The stop codes say: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED and UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION and also INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR. And that's if it even boots up for a minute. Often it just boots straight to BIOS.
TO BE FAIR this is a 6+ year old hand me down laptop. It's been through three moves. But we have been treating it as well as we can.
HERE'S THE THING. This was a gaming laptop. Sure it was an old one. But before these problems started it ran even newer games well enough.
Our point is, this gaming laptop was one of our only bright lights in the shitty situation we've been in for like 4 years now. (Having to live with abusive people, having no money for ourselves, no control in how our lives go basically) It's our only link to spending time with our friends and partner system. It helps distract us through all our bad mental and physical disabilities.
We need a new gaming laptop. We Need to be able to play our games. And we want this laptop to last for At Least another 6 years, hopefully more. So Ideally we would like a nice one.. We know we can't be too choosey. But it would be wise for the future to get one that will last a while. So that this hopefully doesn't happen again so soon.
