welp let's go through this---Firestar is still a ginger tom because he gets the ginger from Spottedleaf. Sandstorm would be gray(or brown)/cream tortie because her mom Brindleface is gray and her dad Beach is cream. Leafpool could either be a ginger/cream she-cat or a tortoiseshell (diluted or not). If she's a tortoiseshell, then Hollyleaf could still be black as Crowfeather is still black/gray following his family tree. Or she could be a tortoiseshell (again, diluted or not).

The Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC) is a body created at Loughborough University in England that studies the connectedness and relationships between cities.
GaWC define alpha cities as "very important world cities that link major economic regions and states into the world economy" (GaWC, 2010). Beta cities are defined as " important world cities that are instrumental in linking their region or state into the world economy".
According to the GaWC in 2010, Toronto was categorized as an alpha city whereas Manchester was considered a beta city.
Does Milwaukee have enough global connections to achieve its water hub dreams?
There was some reporting this week on how Milwaukee rates domestically in terms of traffic congestion (57th) and thriftiness (in the top 25 coupon clipping cities).
But did you see this visualization of global cities from the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) Research Network?
According to the GaWC's ranking of the global network connectivity of 315 cities, Milwaukee falls into the third tier of global cities. This seems fairly respectable given Milwaukee's size and inland location.
Other takeaways for Milwaukee:
If Milwaukee's goal is to become the "World Water Hub," it has some serious competition from more globally connected cities. For example, Singapore scores 67.46 and Amsterdam 51.85 on the GaWC's index, whereas Milwaukee registers at 18.29.
Chicago may be more of a "global city" than I had thought. Chicago ranks surprisingly well in terms global connectedness - in the alpha tier and second only to New York in North America. (Note: this is just one of many global city rankings. See Andrew Renn's critical discussion of Chicago's global situation and survey of numerous global city criteria.)
Both #1 and #2 suggest that Milwaukee's best pathway to success in building a international water hub comes from tight linkages to and identification with Greater Chicago. So, subtly dropping "Milwaukee" from the Milwaukee Water Council's name is probably a good move. But capturing the wider water efforts of greater Chicago and centering them on Milwaukee seems to be a real marker of potential success.
GaWC's ranking is based on the networks of the largest business service firms, so important indicators like academic research capacity are not directly measured. Yet, these data seem relevant when considering the prospects of Milwaukee's ability to convert its water research into private sector business opportunities on the global stage.
