Painted myself a white-crowned sparrow plate :) will not confirm nor deny the bird choice being influenced by my bird inspired cast of characters that saturates my blog :) and here's a bonus chicken egg cup!

It's my project's @sparrow-flight's 1st anniversary! It's two days after Hrodwyn's anniversary, so I decided to quickly redesign their D&D4e counterpart's look. I'll do a proper redesign one day...
Hrodwyn here was ported from a 4e campaign into a Delta Green campaign, and so was the rest of their family. I'm now playing their dad, a mercenary who reunites with his 3 kids after being wrongfully jailed for 10 years. He also has to fight cosmic horrors and will undoubtedly bring the dangers of work home, whether it's from his organisation or his mental and physical scars. You can start reading in the account above or on the main site!
Here's also a sketch and a transparent version...
"But sometimes, when I do certain things... there is a big, red wall, and it hurts." "I can't proceed. I have to turn back."
I got the idea for this drawing last year of my friend's PC (also the one who wrote the quote) for their birthday, but I didn't have the time to draw it then. One year later, and here we are again! Eloise Campbell, the android (reskinned D&D4e Shardmind) starts as a clone of her selfish creator, breaks her programming to find her own identity, and ends the campaign as Steora with a new body (the reflection in the window).
In GAWE, the D&D4e westmarches my friend and I were in, my PC Hrodwyn made Steora's little star clip. We also joked about how Steora and Hrodwyn's brother, Merethel, would be a very cute/fitting couple. And then we joked so hard to the point that Steora got thrown into Helvetia, the Delta Green campaign, to make the ship possible because Hrodwyn's family also got thrown into LMAO
Progress shots are under the cut! Bless 3D models for speeding the process up so much (I mean it still took ~8-9h but lol)
"The longest night will have an end!"
Days before all 5 planets collide, Hrodwyn races to prepare for the end of the world as they know it... but at least now they have their father and their siblings by their side.
Merlin of Groenewellan: Hrodwyn's late mother whose stories and spirit they keep close to heart ✨ Hrodwyn doesn't remember much else about her, since she died protecting her kids after one, due to Starblight, transformed and cannibalised another child.
She's a sparrow-shifter like the rest of the family, except she lived most of her life as a human up until meeting Hrothgar (Hrod's dad). So she's a lot more human oriented in culture and in ways of life! That's why her outfit is different from the rest: instead of manifesting clothes with 'magic' (actually nanobots) (this is how they shift forms too), she makes them. She's also using a wolf pelt unlike the rest of the family's feather-down cloaks.
I procrastinated on my assignment so hard, I finished a sketch I've been procrastinating on for 4 months LMAO glad it's finally done! I like how the colours turned out too. I'm just hoping tumblr won't crunch down on them like they're doing in the draft preview
Hrodwyn of Groenewellan, sparrow-shifter (Hengeyokai): my brutal scoundrel rogue PC for a 4e Westmarches (with their sparrow form). The only reason I painted this is because I want a nice picture for their token LOL
If there's anything I'm more surprised about than how this turned out a lot better than I expected, it's how the scanned result is SO GOOD and accurate. I haven't touched watercolours since that one time in 2020 and, while I definitely made mistakes I regret, I think this is still pretty good given I don't paint with watercolours. It definitely helps that, apparently, the way I've been painting digitally is basically the watercolour method.
Oh, this was inspired by Pavane by Gabriel Faure too! It kept looping in my head before and while painting this. I think it fits the state of Hrodwyn and their ice-age home planet Hwytvid at the start of the campaign. And here's a sketch/reference page thingy of coming up with their design.
Art v Artist, 9th version! I intentionally waited for my yearly haircut to finally have an art v artist with my usual short hair, but then I got lazy to take a picture, so I'm reusing that one from a few posts ago lmao
Half Delta Green stuff, half GAWE/D&D4e stuff, one third Tedyputra and two thirds birdfam: all is right with the world. I'm a bit sad there isn't a lot of super high-effort stuff since I didn't have the time for them, but I'm glad I've expanded to watercolours and my Tombows (since my sketchbook can FINALLY work with them)
To keep the spirit of the blog's Delta Green theme, here's 2021 and 2022 to show how long I've been keeping up with this Delta Green BS 😭 (the middle is a bonus third one where it's all group shots of my M-EPIC group, all in different art styles and/or mediums!)
