I’m a few days late, shamefully, but happy anniversary to Devon and Joe! Devon came to me already a customer— she bought a corset way back when I first opened a shop at Faire, and when it came time for a wedding gown, she told me I was the one she wanted to make it. I was so honoured! We threw ideas around with glorious abandon, and when I pitched the idea of riffing on a gorgeous turn of the century House of Worth gown, she was all over it. The original gown was in shades of pink, decked with roses, but Devon met her future husband in a thunderstorm, so we went with silvers and blues and greys, with crystal raindrops on the sleeves. Devon also chose a gorgeous mask instead of a veil, and the perfect fan instead of a bouquet. And the ceremony was at their favourite childhood “haunt”— Knoebels Amusement Park— on the Haunted House Rose! It was so much fun. SO MUCH! 3 years ago I accomplished a personal nerd/friend/life goal by getting to arrange my close girlfriend Shea's wedding bouquet 😍 I'd long since had ideas of what I would want on mine, and she let me do it on hers. I am forever grateful 💕 The flowers were sourced day of, on an awesome impromptu adventure for us bridesmaids, after the original ordered bouquet was not up to expectations. I bossed my way into arranging the new one and adding two delicate touches - an X-Wing necklace charm and a purple jade lightsaber necklace charm - reflective of what were her (and my) favorite thing in Star Wars that had originally brought us together as friends, Jaina Solo.
