The only thing that really really annoyed me about SU is that it had no real conclusion to what happened to the gen experiments. The cluster is shown to be okish in the end but all the wee ones ever really had a happy ending, that plot thread just sort of dropped off and that’s a little upsetting because everything about them from the reveal to the lietmotifs was done so perfectly.

Hey, one thing that Fragments confirmed at least, is that shattered gems can be revived! So, knowing that, we can at least predict that in coming years, outside the canon story (because it doesn't have enough time for it), the cluster and all the gem experiments could be healed, right?

Okay, so I technically am putting this up on here late, but I had it done well before this point in time. So here’s Day 2: Mindless!!!

That is a very odd cut for a gem, isn’t it? We’ve never seen anything heart-shaped before that I can remember. It’s almost like a bigger gem that has been cut several times.

Bismuth mentions a Serpentine in Made of Honor. Presumably, Serpentine was healed in the fountain with the other bubbled gems in Change Your Mind.

Could this be Serpentine? And if this is Serpentine, why is she red? Serpentine is green!

Her pigtails look almost a bit flame like - could there be a bit of Ruby going on with her as well? Maybe that’s where the red is coming from. And if that’s the case, how? Is she a fusion? A really weird one?

There’s also those Fire Salts mentioned way back in Joking Victim that we never saw again. If she’s an experiment in cutting gems, maybe that’s got something to do with it?

Can the healing fountain regenerate parts of gems that have been cut away? Probably not - so she isn’t complete - got something wrong with her as a result. I think up to thirteen pieces of her may be cut if you go by the ‘join or die’ snake on the the dollar bill used in Ronaldo’s theories.

I keep seeing fandomy rumors that the movie is stand-alone, but with the way this show works I’m super skeptical of that. Even the Uncle Grandpa episode tied in to the main story line! No such thing as filler!

Maybe we’ll get more about my weird gem assignment theory in the movie.

Buddy Budwick is Buck Dewey’s grandpa aaaa that campaign sign makes so much more sense now XD

Steven’s “Brothers”

I always talk about how at least Dewey, Yellow Tail and Peedee are gem experiments, right? I believe they were created in that order - but I think Rose had different personal goals in mind when creating each of them:

Bill Dewey was created when Buddy Budwick and Beach City founder William Dewey were alive, or at least around in some way, possibly as revived life forms, like Lars and Lion. Bill, or BILLIAM!!1 is a sort of fusion made with cuts of serpentine varieties imprinted onto William (Williamsite) and Buddy (Lizardite?), creating Deweylite.

Rose may have used cuts of serpentine because the only way she could feasibly cure corruption without the other Diamonds was to use humans to stabilize cuts of a corrupted gem - make some hybrids?

Yellow Tail was created as a direct response to Rose interacting with baby Sour Cream - Rose's personal here is unknown to be, tbh. I think she learned that Marty had ditched Vidalia and wanted to give Sour Cream a dad - to the point where I think Rose originally wanted to call Yellow Tail ‘Yellow Dad’ but she changed it for some reason. Yellow Tail could also be the ‘tail’ of the snake in the serpentine cuts and maybe that’s an indirect namesake?

Peedee was probably created shortly before Steven was born. Rose might have been trying to figure out how to make an actual child as opposed to adults - and Peedee’s creation might have been directly tied to Steven’s aging process. Essentially Rose had never created a child before. (Hot 2 Tot?) Peedee was a final prototype before Steven.

Unanswered questions:

Other than Yellow Tail, I don’t know how this relates to Rose and other people. Was she trying to appease ‘one of the men who came into her life now and again’ by giving William and/or Buddy some sort of superhuman son and... made Billiam by mistake? Did Mr. Fryman feel he needed a second son to keep Ronaldo sane?

There are differences between Dewey, Yellow Tail and Peedee that hints at them not being the same type of gems - Dewey’s pink and sweaty, Yellow Tail can’t talk, and Peedee is a middle-aged workaholic but the same apparent age as Steven. Was it just being part human that made them different, or were the cuts of Serpentine treated somehow to give their recipients different traits?

While I can find a gem name match for Dewey, I can’t find one for Yellow Tail or Peedee that would that would fit as neatly. That being said, the serpentine subgroup of minerals has LOADS of varieties. If you know of a gem name that would work for Peedee or Yellow Tail, please let me know!

adsfasdf honestly part of me is wondering if this might be the movie plot which would be hilarious because no one believes any of these theories. I think the gem in the promo shot is serpentine fff
