The other sapient species in Steven Universe

Turns out Ronaldo wasn't entirely crazy...

I like the geoids the most, they're very simple creatures (in appearance), I wanted them to mirror the gems in some way. They're organic so they can't shape shift of course but they do reproduce asexually like the gems do but they do it through through parthenogenesis..

Not much variety I could add to the snakes, or the green ones. It does what it says on the tin. I don't think I could innovate on the little green Martian I'll be honest -- the only thing I added is that they are amphibious.

Another year and I want to ask...

If you could choose to somehow continue the story of Steven Universe (not the character, but the world itself), what would you do?

Set up a sequel story with new Gem and human characters? Introduce a new antagonistic alien race (Sneeple?) and have them duke it out with the Gems and humans? Or do a prequel showing the Gem War?

Me personally, I'd rather perfer a sequel to a prequel series. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I myself aren't really that interested in seeing more of the Gem War. We know the outcome and there's not really any major twists or reveals that they could have without contradicting the OG show. Looking back on it, the Gem War seemed to serve more as a catalyst for the events and character development that occured in the present. Now that those events and developments have played out, why go back to the War?

A sequel show would allow us to start off fresh, with new characters and infinite story opportunities. We could continue doing the character drama route or we could take the show in a more adventurous, action direction (I personally would love the latter). Since the focus is no longer on Steven, we would be free to explore aspects of the universe (characters included) that he never got to see or know about.

Don't get me wrong, I love Steven and the Gems, but I feel like their stories are complete. Even though I haven't watched Future, I know how it ends. Steven's had his journey, now he's off to find his own life and self, away from the world of Gems and aliens and family drama.

And if we have to get back to Steven, then maybe do a 15-20 year time-skip where he and Connie have kids of their own and we go a "Next Generation" route with Nora Universe and her own set of Crystal Gems while Steven serves as a teacher role or something.

But that's all just me.

Redesigning an old character for new roleplay opportunities

Some lowkey story under the cut

(and art that is more that 10 years old !!)

His name is Leviathan, he's somewhat of a lord in an old region. (Also a naga/snake person) He wears a veil because he's a basilisk, which means he could turn people to stone or injure them if he isn't careful. He comes including a split snake tounge and fangs :B

while he might seem stoic from the outside he actually takes in injured animals and nurses them back to health and he's overly polite and quick to get flustered UwU

I thought that the premise for him might be the good old "looking for a bride" or "other person gets sacrificed but he let's them go" which would have the nice side effect of nearby towns telling the tale of the snake lord who devours young "brides" every few years. (He can unhinge his jaw but he's too embarrassed to let others see, when he eats he always covers his mouth lol )

Thinking about a snake/lamia partner, asking if you could sit a certain way for them. Perplexed, you comply. You freeze as their tail starts curling around your legs, flustered as they slowly wrap their entire body around you, holding your head close to them as they sigh with contentment and whisper, "You're like a little personal heater ❤️"

This month’s physical Patreon goodies are nagas! So I drew the 3rd Celestial Naga (the one of stars) and going with the theme of the nagas being “homosexual”.... 

That means the third naga, who is intersex, is gonna be railing a nonbinary person. There will be breeding involved. Gotta make new stars somehow, yanno! 

Anyway for this month’s stickers they’re gonna be rubbing sun lotion all over their sniddies.
