The thing that annoys me the most about the SU critters is that they are so fucking condescending, constantly circlejerking about how they are such woke, enlightened savants speaking up for truth justice and america while those mindless sheep simply can’t get it, but when it comes to actual critique they are utterly clueless when they are not outright dishonest.
Case in point, of course, the whole Bismuth fiasco, a shitstorm that shook the very foundations of the fandom and was entirely built on a misconception at best and willful ignorance at worst. The message of the episode couldn’t be more obvious:
“War crimes and atrocities cannot be justified”.
But how did the ones that would then become ‘SU Critical(at the time they were just ‘the ones periodically turning the SU tag into a fucking Discourse Inferno’)’ read that?
“Hurr Durr those limp-dicked liberals telling us don’t fight back against oppression at all! Rebecca Sugar is a centrist traitor and must be guillotined!”
Like, why do you think that they cling so adamantly on the “Bismuth would have killed the Diamonds and ONLY the Diamonds!” excuse when everything else within the episode made crystal clear that she was ready to kill anyone that got in the way, her own companions included? Either their capacity for analysis sums up to ‘watched a Nostalgia Critic video once’ or they know that their argument is factually wrong but are too butthurt about SU not validating their childish mindset that they will choke on their own petty bile rather than self-reflect.
One of the reasons that i have stopped taking the SU critters even remotely seriously is that they are so absorbed in their performative purity wank that they have lost any sense of relative scale.
The first example is, of course, the whole Bismuth fiasco. ONE single black-coded character, in a show with multiple wholesome and positive black or black-coded characters, was depicted...not even as evil, just angry and misguided, and for entirely understandable reasons to boot, after we spent a 30 minute special sympathizing with her...and the critters declared SU the most racist show ever and are attacking it like it’s the fucking Birth of a Nation.
And now they reached a new level with this Sadie/Jenny fiasco. According to the critters, this show that was written by LGBT+ people, heavily features LGBT+ characters and relationships, and was a fucking game changer in regards of LGBT+ representation in western cartoons is now queerbaiting because it implied that two female characters may actually be bisexual.
Like, they are so obsessed with hunting down anything even remotely problematic and prove that they are so woke and progressive that they will not only attack any creator that tries to be progressive at the slightest misstep, but will twist neutral stuff and make it problematic so that they can attack with even more vitriol.
It was predictable, because when your brand of social justice demands the scalps of bad people, turns out that everyone has a fucking scalp.

Rose Quartz: shattering is inherently wrong, it is what makes the order of Homeworld so abhorrent that they place no value on gem life...
Bismuth: ...therefore we will shatter them in the name of OUR order!
