Shuffled a playlist and had to fit the song to the character and draw something before the song ended

Good Man - draft

Just wanted to throw out some ideas for the prologue 

The clash of steel sounded in the distance like a dull memory of battle. It rose with the wind and followed along with the figure who strode through the war-worn field. His person covered in blood mingled with sweat and dirt. A limp pulled on the rhythm of his steps as he dragged his way through the beaten down grass. The fallen lay on either side of him, their blood staining the ground where they were left. A flag stood out firm on the rise, bearing the colors of Glishirn; two figures beside it. That was his goal, his destination. The space closed between them as the far off noise faded away into the background, lost in the wind. The land sloped up to meet the rise and the man mounted it with his limp, eyes set on the flag and a resolve firm.

The two men quickly noticed him and addressed him. A canteen was given to him and silence fell as he drank.

"Well?" 

The wounded man wiped his mouth on the back of his hand and looked to the heavens. He sighed to himself and straightened.

"Well we go on. We're holding this land until there's none of us left."

Quiet fell over the group once more. Other men who had noticed the newcomer grew near and listened. All eyes locked on him, looking for direction, for courage; for hope. 

"What's out there, sir? What did you see?" 

"There's more coming. I saw a whole trope marching over those hills. They're not going to stop coming until we surrender. But we won't! Not this day, not us, not to them."

"Aithus…"

The wounded man locked eyes with his comrade, his confidence like a quiet mountain; steady and mighty. His eyes searched his face and then fell away to look behind him at what he'd put behind him. 

"We're going to die. They won't spare us and we can't survive this. It would take a miracle." His gaze fell to the grass. "But I have a plan. It's practically impossible, but we've nothing to lose."

"What is it?" 

"Take the wounded, and the young boys. Fall back. Get to cover where you can regroup with the remaining forces we have. And those who can fight with me will stay here, we'll hold it and cover for you."

"And you?"

"When it clears up we'll take our chance and come back."

"Sir, you're a good man. Don't throw your life away like this."

"No," he shook his head, his hand closing tight around the sword at his waist. "a good man doesn't live long; if he really is what they say. He's gone far quicker then they ever want. Because it takes a mindset like this to do those kinds of things they admire." He turned to look at his comrade. "If I didn't do this, none of us would make it out. I'm not throwing it away. 

"How will we continue without you?" 

"Get your men, Lancree, you have a duty to fulfill." 

Silence fell as they looked at one another, and thoughts passed wordlessly between them. With a firm nod Lancree turned on his heels and marched, yelling out directions. The group of men parted as they dispersed to their new station. The man beside the flag stood still, watching the men rush past and the wounded helped to their feet. 

Aithus screwed the canteen closed and limped up beside him. 

"Are you ready?"

"Pfft, that's a better question for you. You look about dead already."

"I suppose so."

"You sure about this? Is it really going to work?"

"If we do our side well, I know we can."

The wind blew and flapped the flag and it curled and straightened, in and out and over itself in it's never ending dance. 

"I suppose they'll tell stories about this. How would you like that?" The man smiled at his wounded comrade sadly.

"I'd like it very much, if it inspires them."

"Shall we?"  

"I think we shall."

Oh this stuff?? I'm just thinking about the Aithus family that's all. Nothing sad just them.

Here at your regular hour I present this dump of stuff. Enjoy

1. Started drawing Genter. Realized I didn't know what his armor looks like and oh wait he's at war people would be wearing armor. Didn't finish it.

2. Ketsler, because when is that not a good idea

3. Started drawing Ed all beat up and wounded but it didn't turn out all that great so I did a bunch of profile sketches instead.

4. Idk Kloe and Aithus except I didn't finish Aithus lol

Hey guys do you remember Genter? The late Aithus? Father of the lil boy Aithus? I think Genter is a cool guy so I drew him even though he's dead lol and I added an Aithus to the side for comparison
