German Apple Cake is something that a friend made years ago and I’ve never forgotten how delicious it was. She wrote the recipe out for us on the spot and I’ve tried to recreate it but it was never as good.  I finally found a recipe that makes it as I remember it to be. I’m looking forward to trying it.  It looks absolutely delicious !

Well it didn’t quite turn out as I’d hoped, it still tasted good but I needed a smaller cake pan and maybe not a silicone one.  The mixture was more like a biscuit dough than a batter. I was hoping it would have spread out during the cooking process but it didn’t. I thought I’d missed an ingredient out, but alas no.

Next time I might just get it right. Still have to make some rhubarb and apple crumble and some stewed apples. It’s funny I love apples cooked anyway, but not a fan of raw apples. I guess it’s a texture thing.

I’m also looking forward to trying out the sour cream and apple slice sometime soon.
