I’ve been thinking about making a knight/paladin oc for a while and finally made myself do it! Armor can take forever to design but it’s totally worth it. Plus I haven’t created many oc’s that just have a solid eye color. So this is Sir Darien, the ghost of a knight that was killed after losing a duel with his rival to win the hand of their childhood sweetheart. But the strange part is, he had made peace with his death so then...why did he come back as a ghost?
Well, it turns out his childhood friend resorted to visiting a witch to bring him back from the grave after rejecting the winner of the duel who she found out had used an underhanded method to win and killed Darien out of pure spite and jealousy. Sir Darien was not happy at first that his beloved used the dark arts to bring his spirit back, but he was a very forgiving sort and became her ghostly protector for many years, even helping her at least scare the other suitor away that had killed him. However, since his spirit could only be released by her, when she selfishly refused to out of loneliness since no one had ever shown her as much kindness as he did, Sir Darien’s spirit was doomed to wander the earth.
It was after this that he rose to becoming a paladin and legend says he appeared before many knights, saving their lives and assisting the downtrodden. When the world began to change and such holy warriors were no longer needed, he set out in search for Avalon but found the Ghost Zone instead where he spends his time slaying monsters and searching for sacred relics or weaker ghosts to protect. He once carried a real shield but now uses ecto-energy to create them as needed and summons his sword to battle as well. One day, he hopes he’ll find a way to free his spirit from that witch’s magic, but for now Sir Darien is content doing good deeds whenever possible in the meantime.
