For Halloween, these Spooky Ghost Cupcakes are great. The cake is chocolate cake, the frosting is gray, and the mini chocolate chip eyes make them look like friendly ghosts.
Ingredients: 1 box of chocolate cake mix. 1 cup of water. 1/2 cup of vegetable oil. 3 eggs. 1 cup of white frosting. Black food coloring. Mini chocolate chips for eyes.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake pan with paper liners. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined. Pour the cake batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack. While the cupcakes cool, add black food coloring to the white frosting and mix until you achieve a spooky gray color. Once the cupcakes are cooled, frost them with the gray frosting using a spatula or piping bag. To make the ghost faces, place two mini chocolate chips on each cupcake for the eyes. Using a small amount of black frosting, add mouths and spooky expressions to your ghost cupcakes. Serve and enjoy these spooky ghost cupcakes at your Halloween party!
