Day 2 of Buildtober! The prompt was Haunted, so I build a representation of Haunted Doll Watch.

The dolls are made using Armor Stand Edit and Drop Heads

Ghosts are real, this much I know. There are things that tie them to a place, very much like they do to us. Some remain tethered to a patch of land, a time and date, the spilling of blood, a terrible crime... There are others, others that hold onto an emotion, a drive, loss, revenge, or love. Those, they never go away.

@ people that can interpret dreams, please, I need help!

I keep dreaming of dying, but it's not a gruesome death, it's more like... feeling faint and weak all of the sudden and deciding to lay down. And then, I'm dead.

The dreams always involve people who walk past me and either ignore me or tell me I'm being dramatic, and they also involve me wandering around as a ghost or whatever, jumping from roof to roof, etc.

Sometimes I can return to my body, sometimes I'm dead permanently.

What does any of this mean? The dreams always change but they follow the same pattern... I'm curious

"Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" {make her nightmares Worse}

He types it out. The robotic voice of his voice reader stutters the words out with each line as he sips ginger soda. It’s late. He doesn’t feel well at all, he’s already coughed up bile once and he’s asked Green to leave in the next half hour once this ginger goes down. His throat aches. His cheeks feel shallow and his skin’s burning. He already let her know he felt... terrible. Good on her to sit with him and exchange stories.

His mind’s not in the best space, maybe that’s why...

‘Once there was a baby who was born to a greedy mother. My mother knew her. She was a very pretty woman, and slated to be the next doctor in town before she got pregnant. The village was my mother’s childhood home, and they were outside of a bigger city, so much that bothered the city did not bother them.’

He massages the underside of his eyes.

‘My mother and this woman used to work together, setting house foundations in typhoon season. I’ll call her Koh. Koh was greedy because she used to be hungry, and when her daughter was born, Koh was... angry that she had less now because of it. When strangers came to the village, my mother saw Koh as one of the first in line when they started asking for things... or taking them. 

A few weeks later, food stopped coming to the village, and from the sea came a film of yellow sulfur that killed the fish. People started starving. Koh disappeared sometime then, and my mother hadn’t heard from her for some time. She went to Koh’s house and found a bloody box with baby rags. No Koh.’

He pauses.

‘My mother kept looking for her after the famine turned into a warzone, and she took everything with her when she prepared to run from the village. One of the things she took was a camera. Before she left, she went to check Koh’s house one more time. She heard crying, and saw nothing. It was dark.’

His lips are peeling from stomach acid and he keeps chewing them. This story scares him. It’s the way she tells it that scares him. 

‘She took a picture with the camera to light the foyer with the flash and saw nothing, so she left.’

His mother kept that camera for a long time after, and for a reason.

‘Until she looked at the photo paper and saw something in the lens, staring back.’

He shivers.

‘My mother still hears crying sometimes. When I came back to my home for the first time, I heard it too.’
