Sayyiduna Ghawth al-Aa'zam Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir Jilani (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) states: "If a person in distress or hardships calls out to me, his hardship will be eradicated. If a person uses my name as a Wasila (medium) when he pleads to Allah, his need will be fulfilled. One should perform two Rakats of Salah and in every Rakat one should recite the Surah Fatiha and thereafter, Surah Ikhlas eleven times. After completing the Salah, one must recite the Durood and Salam (Salawaat) upon Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (SallAllahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam). Then remembering me one should take eleven steps towards the direction of Baghdad invoking my name in every step and also one’s need and wish. In this manner, (Allah willing), his need and wish will be granted.

..:: GLAD-TIDINGS FOR THE QADIRIS ::..

It is stated in Bahjat al-Asraar that Ghawth al-Aa'zam (Radi Allahu Anhu) has said,   "I was given an extremely large register in which the names of my companions and those of my would-be disciples till the Judgement Day were inscribed. I was then told that those people have been blessed due to their spiritual link with me. I asked the angel of Hell whether any of my disciples was in Hell. He replied in the negative.   He (Radi Allahu Anhu) further said, "I swear by the glory and greatness of my Creator! My hand of protection is above my disciple as the sky is above the earth. Even if my disciple is not righteous, no matter, by the grace of Allah, I am righteous. I swear by the glory and greatness of my Creator! I will not leave the court of my Creator unless I make each and every disciple of mine enter the Paradise."   He (Radi Allahu Anhu) also said,   "Allah has promised me to make my disciples and friends enter Paradise. Therefore, the one who calls himself a disciple of mine, I initiate him into my Spiritual Order and pay attention towards him. I have made the Munkar and Nakeer promise that they would not frighten my disciples in their graves." [Bahjat al-Asraar wa Ma'dan al-Anwaar, Page 193]

When Gawth al-Aa'zam (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) was made to sit with a saint to practice his first recitation of "Bismillah" at the age of five years, he recited Ta'awwudh (A'udhubillah) and Tasmiyya (Bismillah) and then recited from the first section (Parah) to the 18th section of the Holy Quran. The saint said, ‘Son! Recite ahead.’ He replied: This is all what I memorized because my mother also memorized this much. When I was in my mother’s womb, my mother would recite up to the 18th Section so I had memorized this much by listening to her.
