(this mini story takes place two years before the main story)
Calleem sat in his room for ages. After a visit from the government sent doctor he wasn’t feeling good. It wasn’t that he was sick cause he barely ever get sick. It wasn’t the fact that the doctors and scientists were scared because they always are. No! It was something said. Something about him growing three times faster this year. I mean he was turning 12 this year. His mom always told him about his body and always in the most biblical way. But … why is it happening so soon? Why did he really have to keep growing? What if he grows too tall? What if he’s so tall can’t fitness house or he can’t hug his mom or cant talk to his best friend Amy?
Calleem went days without eating a thing you couldn’t tell his mom what was going on or she would pull out the Bible and scolded him. Then, he couldn’t help but turn away whenever Amy came over. She loved talking to him but he couldn’t stop thinking about how much longer they had together until he outgrew he? Untill even she ran away?
"I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I just wanted them to be happy, too."
No one thought anything could go wrong with supporting a community bake sale. One side gets funding or donations, and the other gets sweet treats! Young Olig didn't see any issues ahead in introducing his spacefaring friends to some native sweets. None of them mentioned any allergies, and their dietary preferences were always handled properly per person. This cake didn't raise any flags, only his excitement to get a bite.
One by one, Olig offered Team Conscience crumbs of Ia-Duun's traditional Etia cake, making sure they each were able to get some of the base, the filling, and the icing on top. He wavered in fear as he watched them, hoping they'd like it. His smile challenged Triri's suns and moons when they said they did, some of them wanting seconds and thirds. Portioning off a piece for them like a petit four, there was enough for both the tiny team and all the mountainous family members to get their fills and then some.
Got their fills, they did, eating themselves into food comas... or so they thought until two of them went down to rest and never got back up.
(More story, extra context, and the stock references under the cut!)
Nasae didn't expect to get a call while changing her scrubs from one messy situation to another. Seeing her spawn as the interlocutor made her heart stop. Hearing his lament pushed tears to build.
Her colleagues began to collect around her as she stood stony and unreadable, only to be then thrown into whiplash when she suddenly broke from her stupor and ran for every bit of portable medical equipment she could carry to her car in one go. Running out like a draft horse, Nasae disregarded any warnings or worries sent her way, answering all of them with a "Family emergency!"
Seeing Despina and DeShawn - the epitome of brains and brawn - curled up on the dining table like newborns was a tragic view. Their puny peers, even a robotically barking Lemon, watching them in a huddle was just as bad. One stood alone at a distant edge, staring down at their feet and the far floor below, and Nasae felt like she was back at the hospital, accosting one of her seniors. Kiyoko had pulled out her doctor's coat and mask and wore them proudly, wondering if there was anything she or any of the tinies could do with little to no equipment.
Before Nasae could address anyone, she gasped seeing Olig run around the corner with a bowl of water, following right behind by Fen. She relaxed for a bit, believing it was for the pet, beginning to set down her tools and kits to approach. Her pupils flared when the bowl hovered in front of Kiyoko.
"No!" Nasae called out, claiming everyone's attention as she dropped the things left in her arms. "I have some ideas of what may be wrong with them, but a bowl will do no good for anyone right now!" She rushed over to her son, putting a hand on his shoulder and moving the water out of his hands down to Fen below with a pat on their head. Turning back to the group, focusing on Kiyoko at her waist, she noted, "I'm rather large and inept to conditions your kind may face, especially as results from ours. As similar as we may be, we're not the same, but I feel we can fix them if we work together."
Hours later, the two medical masters worked magic with massive machina, letting other littles help out when they could, particularly Sol with his holistic knowledge and Candela with her numbing abilities. Despina and DeShawn found themselves encased by a suction-locked mask, getting some gas from a tank at full force. Kiyoko watched over them outside the plastic, unable to do anything more at the moment but wait. Nasae stood by herself in astonishment and anxiety, wondering why two of them, let alone any of them, could get inebriated into an overdose of opiates by the supposedly 'homogenous, well-milled' mix the cake claimed to have, all the while concerned if she could have better luck getting through to Olig crying by the wall that this wasn't his fault.

I will never have an idea if the 1:40-ish ratio is right, and I don't know how shadows work, but look at those tiny travelers on the table! If everyone here can wear a mask, then so can you when you're sick!
Nurse Nasae and her natural hair color coming in clutch with Doctor Yoshino up to take charge when possible and assist when needed! Although her work ethic should still be apparent in her paleness from being inside so long, let's hope her running out of her shift without explanation won't cost her anything. 😉 Also, there are more than fur/faunal babies like Fen in this house. Meet Nasae and Kolvyr's tween boy Olig in the background! He's usually much happier than this but always just as sweet, like the Etia cake when it doesn't stimulate souls to unconsciousness!

Circa February 2021.
Hopefully, whoever Kiyoko had planned to look over with her packed wear and gear on that fateful day is okay. I guess we'll never know for sure.
Besides me just using stock that I knew I could work with, why would you think D-squared got affected by the Etia but no one else did?
Since this lockdown has been going on a lot longer then I think we all imagined it would, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has turned back into a kid. Staying at home has made me revert to a lot of things I would of done as a kid, colouring, drawing , board games and more recently Lego!
Now I am very aware that Lego isn’t just for kids but basically anyone any age but I haven’t touched a Lego brick in years! I decided while I was bored at home I’d order a Harry Potter Lego to build and use as a little display in my room so I went for the Clocktower that is from the Goblet Of Fire! I’m not going to lie to you the 4 hours this Lego took me build to build was the most relaxing I’d had in weeks! There is something really therapeutic about ordering the Lego’s and building the tower which is such a strange thing to me because when I was younger I didn’t have the patience to play with Lego. After I had so much fun building the tower I decided to treat myself to one more and got the Knight Bus from the Prisoner of Azkaban, which looked even cooler in person!
I’m such a big Harry Potter fan and recently I’ve been rewatching all the movies so building the Lego’s has been even more fun for me. This quarantine is such a weird time for everyone so I think if you find something you enjoy doing then do it!!! Take this time to take your health and safety serious but also let you self enjoy something from time to time, it’s a great way to look after your mental health and give yourself a break.
