The world tour had started in South Korea, somewhere Seungcheol believed that he wouldn't have to worry about the where about of his significant other. You were supposed to be there for that show but a last minute call for work had you flying out to the states to meet with sponsors.
Seungcheol was okay with your work trips and never expressed concern regarding your choice of profession but he was growing far tired of having to deal with the pressures of being heavily relied on; without his support.
With each song Seventeen performed he felt the growing pit of irritation, it wasn't that he didn't like to perform. He loves his job and he loves working with his family, but it was the after show and half way break which made that pit overflow.
Seungcheol sat in the corner of the room, he took slow sips from his water bottle, Hoshi waving his hand in front of the leader.
"Yo. You okay?"
"Peachy."
At that Hoshi gave him a brief squeeze on the shoulder before letting Seungcheol wallow in his unnerved state. The worst part about the half way break was going online to see what people had to say, it was easy to pick apart the worst things. It had only been the first half of the concert and people already had things to say, things to comment on.
He continued to scroll oblivious to how upset it really made him, the sweet messages from long time carats overshadowed by hurtful posts. Words and images tearing his performance apart, the worst part was that he started to unknowingly search for the trashiest messages possible.
That was until his phone lit up, your message asking him how tour was.

You showed up to the restaurant that Seokmin had sent you, the ambiance was romantic before you had even stepped foot into the building. The sign AZURE STEAKHOUSE glowed dramatically upon approach, you decide to take a step inside completely oblivious to Wonwoo standing right behind you.
There was no doubt that this was a go to date spot in Seoul, couples lined the windows and walls of the space. In hushed whispers they shared their day or whatever pissed them off at work. Before you could approach the hostess you felt a hand grab your shoulder. You whipped around, a cold hand brushing your exposed shoulder.
"Oh. Sorry...I'm Wonwoo. You must be Seokmin's friend?"
"Oh, yes that is me." He smiled at you, a shy quip to his lips. The two of you approached the stand together.
"For 2, under uhh-"
"Wonwoo." The hostess nodded, grabbing two menus and a wine list before leading the two towards their table for the night. The table was situated between two other couples, right up against the wall. Nostalgic photos framed along the wallpaper and the smell of warm pasta wafting from the kitchen.
"So...." You laughed at his awkward yet endearing start, before introducing yourself properly. "I heard you like photography?"
Your dinner lasted for about an hour and a half, you talked about everything under the sun from camera iso’s to music taste. Yet your mind wandered to the man who's taste in everything contradicted even the smallest of things you enjoyed. A reminder that maybe differences were critical.
Once the two of you got cleaned up and left the restaurant Wonwoo suggested walking along the Han River. The lights were dimmed, and an occasional biker or runner would pass by, but the setting was beautiful otherwise.
"Look, I know why Dokyeom set this up."
"Yeah, I figured." You kept your gaze settled on your shoes, the sound of your heels hitting the floor distracted you from having to awkwardly look at him. "I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault, honestly." Wonwoo walked forward with his hands in his pockets, "I feel like...this might sound weird but-we like too much of the same things."
"You know what is crazy?" You looked up at him this time, eyes widening when you emphasised ‘is’. You stopped in your tracks to gaze over the railing and into the water until you were ready to speak.
"Hmm?"
"I was going to say the same thing. I think we should be friends." He nodded, his small smile never leaving his face.

"We're here!" You stepped out of the black vehicle, the flats of your feet hitting the ground in pure excitement. In front of you stood a building you never thought you'd see yourself in, the HYBE sign was lit up bright but your eyes were focused on the LED lights emitting from one of the rooms.
You closed the door of the car, the wind pushing your hair to the side. You step forward brushing your pants off and taking a deep breath before walking towards what you believed was a dream. The inside of the building was sleek, modern furniture covered the open space. You walked towards the front desk, a kind woman smiled in your direction until you heard his voice.
You whipped your head around, there stood Lee Jihoon of Seventeen. Fuck he said my name. You bowed, extending a hand. "It's so nice to meet you."
He laughed, your words had come out garbled sounding a little more like it's okay, nice meeting you.
"Are you nervous?" You still stood in the same spot staring at him, the only reason you started to pursue music was standing right in front of you. His black hair framed his face well, contrasting his pale skin - he looks better in person.
"I-I. Uh. I'm just a big fan." He gave you warm smile, nothing too flashy just something suggesting it was okay to start moving.
"Do you want to follow me?" You nod, shooting the woman behind you a smile and quick bow. You follow the man towards the elevator, your eyes follow his figure. His confident steps put you at ease but also terrify you, all of your accolades seeming miniscule. "I heard your most recent song for As You Stood By, great work."
"Oh, thank you." He gestured for you to walk into the elevator, you stepped into the small space with him. You couldn't help but watch him scroll on his phone through the reflection on the elevator door.
"So how big of a fan?" Your eyes widened and face flushed red, in your weak attempt to explain his chuckle cuts you off. "I'm just teasing you, I watched your interview with KQ Korea the other day."
"Oh my god." You let your palm slide down your face in despair, the whole interview you spent explaining why you started music, who inspired you and who you idolized. Never did you think you would be put in a situation such as now. "That's actually embarrassing." The elevator door opened.
"Don't worry, I find it endearing." You followed behind him as you walked towards his studio silently cursing at yourself. "So, what is your favorite song?"
"Of Seventeen or of you?" He pulled out his wallet, scanning into the room. He opened the door for you, in which you walked in - embarrassed. You could recognize each part of the studio from his various live streams, where his guitars hung and where he usually sat when working on beats.
"Both?" He gestured for you to sit on the couch so you do.
"I really like I Don't Understand But I love you." He nods, tapping on his mouse to wake up his computer. "But when it comes to your music I really like i don't miss u." He turned his computer so he could see you past the monitor, his face a mixture of deep thought and shock.
"I totally forgot I wrote that." You laughed, pulling out your computer while he returned his to its original state.
"Yeah, it's what inspired a lot of my work."
"How long have you been working in tv and film?"
"About 4 years now!" He let out a low whistle prompting a smile from you. "So I have the lyrics I was thinking here if you would like to take a look at them or change anything." You handed him you laptop, the document visible on the screen along with the pre-debut woozi sticker next to the mouse pad.
You cringed when he looked down, his finger tracing the sticker of him. You watched your idol read the lyrics you had written down, your knee bouncing in anticipation. "Wow, this is really good. Have you ever considered working in the KPOP industry? Or just all music?"
"I thought about it." He returned your computer, when you grabbed it your fingers brushed and you immediately apologized. His face screwed in awkwardness but he brushed it off.
"Are you always like this with your collaborations? You just did some work with BTS." You raised your eyes, he knew a little more about you than you had thought. He could sense your thoughts, "You are aware that you are a big name right?"
"Uh. It hasn't clicked yet."
"For your sake I hope it never does."

“Whatever.”
“Whatever? Are you fucking serious Wonwoo?” You paced back and forth in front of your boyfriend who exhaustedly sat on the couch.
“I don’t understand why I can’t just finish the game. You didn’t need to unplug everything.” He looked up at you with a condescending smile which only made you angrier.
“I asked you. In the morning.” You took a deep breath, pausing your movements to stand right in front of him. Nearly between his legs, “To just do the dishes so I could come home and make dinner." You looked at him with wide eyes, a purple hue to accurately show how draining your work day was.
"I just think you're over reacting." You scoffed at his words.
"Yeah. Of course you fucking think that, all you do is play your video games and then wait for me to get home and do the chores and make dinner." He stood up after your rant, taking his turn to start pacing.
"I literally pay for this apartment, I can do whatever the fuck I want." He moved to grab his keys and wallet from the entryway table, the keychains clinking together. "And right now, I need fucking air. So enjoy the FREE space that I provide." He walked out the front door, letting it slam on his way out.
You stood there shocked by his words, the only thing you could do was sink into the couch. Your hands running through your hair while to try to digest the harsh words your boyfriend of 4 years decided to use.
Wonwoo walked towards the corner store he would frequent when stocking up on energy drinks and the occasional late night snack. The conversation he had with you replaying in his mind, he opened the door and was greeted by the store owner.
He returned the greeting with a nod and tight smile, he made his way towards the soda aisle. "Jesus." Wonwoo cursed under his breath after thinking about the words he decided to hurt you with, he reaches for the Diet Dr. Pepper but pauses. "This is stupid."
He purchased a Monster Energy and grape jellies. It was freezing cold by the time Wonwoo had paid for his items, and instead of going home he went for a walk.
Before you and Wonwoo got into a relationship he would often escape his issues by taking long walks at night; nights where he would call you and talk about his issues. Not this time.
Instead of answering your text messages he decided to settle at a random park, the street lights were dimmed and the air was cold.
At home you still sat in the same spot, eyes glued to your phone. You tried to understand where you went wrong, debating whether or not to go to your friends apartment for the night.
On the other side of the block Wonwoo was confused on why his usual therapy of late night isolation wasn't working. His head wouldn't clear and his heart couldn't stop racing. "Fucking hell."
Wonwoo stood up, tossing his trash into the bin and walking home quickly. He was worried you would think about potentially leaving for the night and that was the last thing he wanted.

✧.* synopsis: joshua tells mingyu that he feels homesick, so he decided to reach out to his old highschool crush in hopes to reminisce in more ways then one.
"Last night you were feeling very nostalgic…" Joshua dropped the dumbbell to look at Mingyu, his eyes sharpening at his tone.
"It's nothing you need to worry about."
"I was just asking, but if you insist." Mingyu continued his workout, with each pull of the cables his view of Joshua's inner struggle was visible on the mirror in front of him.
"Okay. Maybe I am." Dropping the weight, Mingyu turned around on the bench to face his friend. "I was scrolling so far last night, and I came across an old high school picture. My high school crush was right next to me, and I just started to think." Mingyu's eyebrows raised at Joshua's bashful confession.
"Well, there's only one solution I think." Joshua took a sip of water, eyes searching his friends for devious intent.
"Yeah. And what would that be." Mingyu stood up and walked towards Joshua's gym bag, he grabbed his phone and handed it to him.
"No. No, I am not." He stood up baffled at Mingyu's bold idea, "There is no way?" “Dude, come on!" Mingyu's voice shook with laughter as Josh stood up and started pacing.
"What's the worst that could happen?"
"I don't know? She rejects me?"
"Who said that's why you're messaging her? Why not just ask to retouch?" Joshua turned to look at his friend, the wheels of doubt in his head slowing.
"Okay, well maybe refrain from saying 'retouching'." Mingyu dropped his palm onto his shoulder in support before leaving to go change out of his clothes.
"Got it boss."
LOCATION & TIME: 6PM @ INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Joshua sat in his car fiddling with the simple bouquet of flowers in his hands, mentally he was praying you still loved alliums. A notification removed him from his anxious headspace; your message reading 'just got my luggage' returning him straight back.
"Fuck. You got this. You got it." His mantra was cut short when he saw you walk out of the airport, he stepped out yelling your name with a big wave.
You saw Joshua, almost the exact same from how you remembered him. Besides the muscles, tan and the dark black hair.
You approached him with a big smile and your arms open, he bent down to receive your invitation. He graciously grabbed your suitcase putting it neatly in the trunk while you got into the passenger seat. "These are for you." He shyly handed the flowers over to you, his elbow resting on the steering wheel while he watched you gush over the thought.
"Oh my gosh, how'd you remember that I like alliums?" He just shrugged before driving in the direction of your accommodation for the week.
The two of you talked about everything from careers, relationships and old high school drama that you never had the time to talk about.
"Are you hungry? I know a good korean barbeque place; it's like three minutes away from your hotel."
"I would love too. Thank you." He smiled at you before making a right turn instead of left.

The wedding ended on a good note, nothing too sweet and nothing too sour. It was time to return to the group once you had settled down, even though you didn't talk to Mingyu about your anger or grudge. In the moment you were just happy to have him by your side again, something you hadn't had in a very long time.
The party ended up moving to a nearby club on the beach to celebrate the newly weds. Lily and Emma dragged you along despite your hesitance, something in your gut telling you not to take more then what you had.
The drinks made their way around, Seokmin was belting out Mariah Carey on the karaoke stage, Lily and Emma were attempting to play pool but a version where they just put the balls in each slot, Jun, Minghao and Nari talking about their adventures in China over a long game of darts. You were sitting at the bar sipping on your drink while watching them all interact, Mingyu approached you with a raised hand.
"Hmm?"
"Would you like to dance?" You were about to accept until flashy pink frills entered your point of view. The smell of sickly sweet perfume clouding your personal space.
"I would love too!" The well known voice echoed through both your ears and out, Mingyu's face turning red as he looked behind you.
"I-. I-." His stuttering was not making the scene any easier, her manicured hand was outstretched waiting for him to take. You stared at Mingyu with your eyebrow raised, his eyes remained focused on you. Yet no words came out of his mouth, expect the utterance of her name.
"Younghee?"
"Hey, Mingyu it's good to see you." She addressed the man in front of you while directly ignoring your presence completely.
"Nice to see you too Younghee." She looked down at you from your spot at the bar, sneering at your less expensive choice of dress. Mingyu continued to stay stuck in his place, something you thought he would've gotten over by now.
"Yeah...Anyways! Mingyu...a dance?" Her voice was sultry when approaching him, you watched the interaction with an upset expression. Her nails danced along his shoulder while she taunted him, you on the other hand remained in your seat waiting for him to make a move. Me or her.
When he made no action to choose, you downed your drink, stood up, placed a tip under your glass and walked straight out. Making a beeline towards the hotel, with no one following you. I guess it was her.

The venue was absolutley beautiful, you had ended up needing to take an off-roading experience to get to the beach location itself. You arrived with your two best friends Emma and Lily along with their significant others Seokmin and Minghao. The five of you approached Jun and his bride to be, Nari when you stepped foot on the sand; having arrived earlier then the others.
"Hey, congrats dude." They share handshakes and firm hugs.
"So good to see you! You look stunning!" You each take a turn to hug the woman while complimenting her appearance.
The group ended up splitting into two, the men went to go prepare for guest arrival while you and the girls went to check in on the catering. Not because you wanted a drink or anything...
Nari had told you, Emma and Lily all about the planning and what it took to make the space seem so magical. The free wine was already starting to hit, and things started to turn nostalgic. The three women spoke about how surreal it was that they were just all in college, with laughs and inside jokes shared the mood in the area couldn't be soured.
The guests had started to arrive and you could feel the anticipation of seeing Mingyu again build; the people around you could also tell.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good. Maybe I'm drinking too much." Emma laughed at your flushed presentation before offering to get water. You refused but she had insisted before walking away in the direction of the cooler.
Your group stood right near the entrance, watching everyone arrive a perfect way to prolong and foster your anxiety. You had subconsciously checked yourself multiple times, redefining lipliner, smoothing out your dress and attempting to catch a glimpse of your face in your wine glass.
"Hey guys!" Your body froze, the sound of his voiced echoed through the large group that had just arrived. "Dude, Seokmin you didn't tell me we would have to go off-roading." Your eyes remained locked on the small plate of starter food that the group had collected. Lily stood across from you her eyes boring into your stoned face, she awkwardly bent backwards to kick you under the table. Once her heel hit your shin you straightened up, right when Emma had returned with bottled water for the group.
"Oh! Mingyu, I didn't know you got here. I would've grabbed another."
"He can have mine." Everyone turned to look at you, if you were flushed before you were definitely now bright red. Not out of embarrassment but because Mingyu wore the same cologne he always did, his hair wasn't gelled because you would always tell him it looked tacky that way, his suit buttons were open just enough that you could see the the outline of his muscular chest. "I need to use the restroom." You scurry towards where you thought the bathrooms were, but the just ended up being on the other side of the venue. Thankfully where no one was.
"Does she still hate me?" Mingyu's eyes widened as he spoke. "You told me she might come around." Seokmin put his hands up in mock surrender, having heard the pout in MIngyu's voice.
"You need to give her time."
"Yeah." He continued to scan the crowd and tents for where you could've gone, reluctantly he grabbed the water bottle meant for you and drank some.
Everyone was now seated in their rows, you sat three rows behind close family. To your right were your friends in the order of Emma, DK, Lilly and then Minghao and directly on your left was Mingyu.
The seating arrangements were something Jun and Nari worked on together so for the sake of your friends you chose not to speak up about it. They clearly didn't know what had happened between the two of you.
Before you knew it the processional walk began, Jun's little cousin's ran down the isle as ring bearer and flower girl. Collective awes filled the air as they floated towards the alter in cheerful fashion.
Next were the bridesmaids and groomsmen, they walked down elegantly in pairs all sporting a large smile and happy waves to their own loved ones and friends. The music had started to slow once the bridal party was situated, everyone let out a few gasps of admiration for the bride. She walked down with tears streaming down her face while approaching Jun, her grip on her father's hand slipping. Jun watched his wife approach with a cheesy grin and bouncing shoulders, amused at how this had suddenly became his life.
On the other hand Mingyu sat next to you wiping his own tears, something you used to admire about him. Something you maybe still do admire about him. You remained sedentary but the small hiccups that escaped his mouth plucked at each feather of grudge you held for him. Without thinking you placed your hand on his thigh to calm him down, something that you used to do. Usually he would put his hand right on top of yours so he could play with your fingers but this time he just relished in the warmth of your palm.
The ceremony and vows were delicate and glamorous, the love in the air was intoxicating and you could feel the support from the large gathering of people just by looking at each person. The married couple ended the main ceremony by running down the isle together hand in hand, off to do their own religious and personal rituals. As they disappeared all guests were whisked off to the main tent for the recession.
You couldn't tell if it the wind making the tears fall faster or the fact that it had been months on end since you last spoke to Mingyu and he still remembered everything about you. When you heard the particles of sand shifting beneath feet you knew who it was. He took in your state and decided to take Seokmin's advice, so he just sat down next to you his arms supporting his leaning body.
You waited for him to speak, but he didn't so you spoke first. "I'm sorry, I never left Korea." Instead of getting upset with you he let out a loud laugh before brushing the hair out of your face. His sweet boyish face right in front of yours, you searched his face for an ounce of anger or anything. Completely forgetting that you were the one was was valid in holding anger but all of that had diminished the second his fingertips traced where your mascara and tears met.
