Allow me to bring back my little tradition I call #tuesdaygt , where a nice refreshing G&T is enjoyed . Sooo Spring is still not here, so had to do a indoor shot today, in my Homebar - accompanied by Louis Armstrong on Saxophone and vintage vinyl, using a tasty gin I Got from @lahvino . Todays "fun facts" will touch the area of Rosemary 🌱- I often use it as garnish and it really works brillantly in a classic G&T addint a herbal experience to the package . The name of Rosemary originates from the Latin word rosmarinus, meaning “mist of the sea” or “dew of the sea”🌊 . Rosemary is part of the mint family, together with Basil, Lavender, Oregano and many other herbs🎋 . In the 16th century, Rosemary was often burned in sickrooms as disinfectant to kill germs💉 . Ancient Greeks believed that Rosemary was a magical plant that could strengthen memory💡 . Safe to say I still believe this, and is the ONLY reason I drink as many G&Ts as I do (with Rosemary as garnish)🙈😇 . Today I used the Italian gin from Malfy, which showcases coastal lemons and a juniper-forward flavour profile. Using wild Italian juniper alongside 5 botanicals, this makes for a dry and crisp tasting notes. Notes such as Juniper, anise and spicy coriander combine wonderfully👌🏽 . Paired with the Classic tonic from @tailoredtonic this was as fresh and classic as they come - perfect tuesday sipper, while looking at the rain drop💦 . Happy National Gin and Tonic Day!! Another year, another tea infused gin. This year I’m drinking @suntory_rokugin from Japan. It’s distilled with unique Japanese botanicals, including Sencha and Gyokuro teas. It’s very smooth and could be sipped alone, but I like the quinine bite that tonic brings back into the equation. A friend got me hooked on the light tonic water from @fevertree_usa , and it’s definitely the way to go with more delicate gins. Regular tonic water has so much sugar that it tends to overpower gins with a subtler flavour profile. I highly recommend picking up some light tonic water if you’re an adventurous gin drinker.
