Ok ok so I first heard this song when I was like hopelessly crushing on a guy (who may or may not actually have turned out to be a d-bag, but anyway~) and when I first heard this song I was like “wow that’s so true bestie”. Anyway it’s definitely an underrated one by them!

Heavy Horses - Jethro Tull

I found this song when I bought the album at a flea market type place last year while I was first getting into Jethro Tull. I hadn’t listened to much of their stuff yet but I had loved what I heard so far. So I just went ahead and got it because why not lol! And holy horses Batman! No regrets on that purchase!! I love this album so much, especially this song! Like the lyrics are so good and don’t even get me started on the music! My favorite part is when the horse chords start at 3:59! Those are hilarious and fit it perfectly!

Rick Springfield - Human Touch

So when Rick preforms this song at a concert, he goes into the audience so he can really do what the song says lol. Because hey, “we all need, the human touch” right? Haha Well when my mom and I went to one of his concerts (I was in middle school) he did this, and I definitely wasn’t expecting it. So there I was confused as to why a very sweaty Rick Springfield was two rows away from me all of a sudden. 😂 No I did not get the human touch from Rick Springfield, but a lot of middle aged moms did!

(Also “she’s got the love monkey riding on her back” to me just means Davy?! Rick you’re talking about David Jones are you not? He IS the love monkee after all)

I used the instrumental version of this song on a video I made for a final project this time last year. It was a very stupid, but informational video! And I only made it so dumb because it was the last thing I would ever turn in before I graduated lol. Now every time I hear it, all I can think of is me running around on a green screen😭

Hey! I’ll send an ask: what’s the coolest thing you did in October and what cool things are you looking forward to in November?

Hey!! Hmm I actually didn't do a lot of cool things in October because the library job turned out to be hell with the colleagues who for some reason all hated me and let me feel it very much 😬 if we count me quitting in early October, then there's that. I also went to a concert which wasn't as fun as expected because I was basically hurled into an amp tower while trying to escape the mosh pit (which you just couldn't start in this tiny venue) but hey it was a concert!

The only real fun things I did this month were crocheting a lot (made a small basket, a bag, a headband and a scarf), going to a natural history museum near me with the bird hall being one of the oldest natural history collections in the world? And what I'm really proud of is asking my crush out (who's a carbon copy of young Val Kilmer, poor me)!! He rejected me because he had a girlfriend but he was so so sweet to me about it and that only makes me have more heart eyes for him 😭 that's not too bad for my first attempt at asking anyone out ever, I'd say!

I have a few things I'm looking forward to in November! I got tickets for a concert on the 15th where four bands are playing and I already know two of them personally to some extent, so that's gonna be really fun (and I'll be staying until 5 in the morning again)! In late November, the Christmas markets are opening and I want to visit a few in larger cities this time because some have medieval or fairytale themed markets! I'm also going to ask my former boss if I can bartend again and if that works out, it's gonna be fun too because I miss it a lot :( And I'm planning to visit some art exhibitions and possibly workshops in the region :)

Hello hello!! Merry Christmas from your Rocker Secret Santa! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and that you have an easy and peaceful 2025. It has been nice getting to chat with you this month!

Also, those all sound fire!! Cooking is one of my favorite things to do as well; right now I really like making candy and bread (not together lol), and I’ve never really done dance but I think it is an amazing art form!
