Genevieve, Rashad and Dominique walked into the royal chambers. Liam greeted them, “Hi, Rashad would you mind accompanying me to my study? I need to discuss our upcoming trip to Boston.” Rashad nodded his head, then the two men left.
Anitah walked out a short while later with Milo trailing behind her. Dominique wagged her tail at her new friend. Milo ran up to her and immediately started sniffing her, tail wagging.
Anitah squealed, “Puppy!”
Genevieve grinned, “This is Dominique. I'm so in love with her, Anitah. Do you think Pam will notice if I bring her with me?”
Anitah giggled, “‘Pam will definitely notice. Maybe Drake will babysit. Then she can get acclimated with horses and hang out with Gryff.”
“As long as he doesn't turn my sweet girl into a grumpy mallow, I think that's a great idea!”
“Where'd the boys go?” Anitah questioned.
“Liam’s study. Some preparations for their trip to Boston next week,” Genevieve shrugged her shoulders.
“Well let's meet them there. Then we can leave for the dog park.” The two women along with their dogs walked towards Liam’s office. They could hear the men talking behind the door.
“Anitah is going to kill me if she sees this, Rashad!”
“Gen won't be happy either, Li. She'll probably throw her engagement ring at my face and I'll lose an eye or something.”
“What are we going to do? They cannot find out about this.”
The two women shared a look and without a word burst through the door.
Anitah put her hands on her hips, “What the hell is going on in here?”
Liam stared at Anitah with his mouth open, his arm behind his back hiding something.
Genevieve glared at her fiancé, “Yeah, what can't we find out about, Rashad?”
Rashad gave her a nervous look. He cleared his throat, “Before you decide to murder us, let us explain…”
Liam added, “We were...sent...um...something we have to wear next week for one of the events.”
Genevieve raised her brow, “You guys were sent clothing? What is it?”
Anitah’s eyes went wide, “Now, just hold on a diddly darn minute!”
Genevieve turned to her friend at the sound of her words, “This must be bad if you just said ‘diddly darn’...” She realized why the queen was shocked and gasped, “Oh my god! No! Absolutely not!”
“Sweetheart, we have to...It would be offensive if we didn't…one of the events is a baseball game. Please understand that we have to do this for political reasons.” Rashad slowly walked towards her.
Both women crossed their arms in front of them. “My king, if you bring that into our quarters you will either sleep on the couch or it will get burned in the fireplace.”
“Anitah, my love, it's just a jersey...it doesn't even have a player’s name on it. It actually has ‘Rhys’ on the back. See?” He held it up for her to see.
“Actually let me see it,” Anitah held out her hand and Liam eyed her suspiciously before reluctantly giving her the Red Sox jersey. She threw it on the floor next to Milo and pointed her finger at it. Milo stepped up and lifted his leg, pissing across ‘Rhys’.
“We don't do Red Sox, Rhys. Ever!” She stomped out of the study, Milo following his mommy.
Genevieve burst out laughing, “This is the best day ever!” She turned to Rashad, “You can wear that to the game...but understand that you will now go get me a kitten.” She walked out of the room, where both men stood stunned and speechless.
