Part one: what does it look like?
Here it is folks: Green Speak, the language of the Native Magellan Islanders.... Or, at least, what i have so far. The Godak people, in case you missed it, are a concept I came up with within the ppg and gorillaz universe. A race of people with green skin, like Murdoc and Ace. I tagged all previous posts about them with #Godak if you'd like to learn more!
Here it is!! (My handwriting is shit I'm sorry)
I drew inspiration from Hawiian in that it has a limited number of sounds. Only five vowels: a e I o u (which make only the sounds ah ee eh oh oo respectively) and 11 consonants: d f g k l m n r s v x (where x makes the ch sound)
The next inspiration was Korean, as each sound is notated by a symbol and stacked or combined with other sound symbols to make words. For example fish is 'moor', so you stack the m sound above the oo sound and put the r beside them. Pretty simple but it looks cool!
So whats it SOUND like?? its quite a grumbly language. all the G sounds are made by clearing your throat, all Rs are rolled and vowels are drawn out while consonats are hard. Like Spanish and german had a very easy to understand child
Part 2 will either be grammar or conjugation (whichever i finish first 😂). Stay tuned!!
