Morrigan Prayer for Friends

Lady of Light and Darkness.

Goddess of harrowing lessons and hard-won victories.

I lift up my friends to you.

Though they are both in their darkest hours,

It’s a darkness within a womb.

They are their own mothers…

You bearing witness to their rebirth.  

They will grow from the mistakes they have made…

The woe they now harbor…

A lesson they will learn…

And they will give birth to themselves.

It will be agonizing.

Hours and maybe days of blood, sweat, and tears...

Each second a century.

Each minute a millennium.

They will scream profanities and curse those around them…

Curse themselves…

But this won’t be the end.

It’s a beginning.

I pray they see this is true.  

They will overcome their pain and persevere.

They will survive.

They will be born again like new.

Macha, Great Mother, guide them through their labor.

Badb, Guardian of the Veil, strengthen their swelling spirits.

Morrigan, Queen of Sovereignty, lift them up on raven’s wings.

May they find the strength within themselves to move forward.

Always forward.

So mote it be.

Goddess Morrigan

There is not much mention of the Morrigan on here so I thought I should inform you all. Goddess Morrigan is associated with life and death and she transports souls through this cycle. At one point she was known as the ‘Great Goddess’ and many worshipped her.

Her name means ‘great queen’ or ‘phantom queen’ and there are many variations such as Morrighan, Morgane, Morrigu.

Goddess Morrigan is a triple goddess and takes the maiden/mother/crone form.

Symbolism/ Forms:

🐍Morrigan is a bird goddess and can change into a crow. 🐍She is associated with crows, ravens, owls and vultures. 🐍She is also linked to spirals, lunar circles and snake coils. 🐍Life, death, regeneration

Goddess Morrigan is also known as a goddess of battle and war and appears before terrified men. Apparently if you grab her breast and suck on it you can be granted a wish.
