The Marvel vs Godzilla comics are getting ready to come out, which means it’s almost time for my favorite game!

You see, Godzilla is a notoriously hard character to draw, so artists who aren’t used to drawing Godzilla often have to use a lot of references to draw him.

I’m obsessed with the different variations of Godzilla’s design, and I’m pretty good at identifying which version of the Godzilla suit is on screen at any given time. I LOVE going through these books and trying to find which images of Godzilla were used as references for the comic art!

(Note, I am not criticizing the artist for using references. Godzilla is HARD to draw and I understand that. I just love finding the references because it’s like a little Easter egg hunt)

I also meant to post these designs a while back too. Basically, every time I make an AU for Godzilla, Heisei Godzilla is always rebirthed. So, I decided to draw how he would look, pre-rebirthed and rebirthed.

His pre-rebirthed design is based around his design from Godzilla VS Mecha Godzilla || and Godzilla VS Space Godzilla. His Iris is much darker compared to his rebirth design. In general, he's a little more hostile than he is once he gets rebirthed. He's also around his late 30s at this time.

When it comes to his rebirthed design, he has scars from his burning Godzilla form since that was his last form before dying. He gets a tad chubby. He also is in his late 40s, early 50s at this time.

I was going to draw Jr. Since he always gets rebirthed too in these AUs. However, after drawing Heisei, I lost motivation. Maybe in the future I'll draw his design.
