Uh, what are some of your favorite things to bake?

I come from a big family if I’m gonna bake it needs to be something that’ll last and something that won’t take forever. There’s plenty of dishes I favor but for the sake of being convenient I really like butter cookies.
They’re easy, they’re versatile, and you can make them well in the dozens.
I am strongly against icing on most sweets, they don’t need it. And most icing is too overpowering. But a dark chocolate dip to harden the bottom is a treat in a subtle mature way. It goes great when mixed with certain wines especially light cranberry mixes.
I personally enjoy adding citrus, orange zest is honestly the most tedious part of the entire recipe but it pulls it all together. A soft salt finish and they can last like two days back home which is an impressive feat.
