How I’ll handle QSS translations going forward
Like a lot of you reading this, I’m pretty pissed that YoManga & GoManga not only decided to shut down the raw site, they decided they weren’t going to be making ANY MORE REGULAR SCANLATIONS AT ALL!! It went against everything they said that they were planning to do like upgrading the site. However, if there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, there’s no point in crying over something like this disappearing and all you can do is act quickly. Since we’re so close to the end of the story, I’m not going to stop translating and I’ll be telling you all what I have planned. Unlike YoManga, I’m going to be frank with you about what I plan on doing and that if you want to keep reading QSS, you’ll need to make a few concessions.
Even though the raw sites are all gone, I can still access my old translations through my Disqus account and I’ll be reposting them here on Tumblr.
Now here’s where things are going to have to change. I can’t think of any legal way that I can get the pictures of the chapters so I can only do the translations. If you want to see what’s happening, you’ll have to buy the chapters here https://www.lezhin.com/ko/comic/queceracera Even though it looks bad, it’s not as burdensome as you might think. All but 8 of the chapters are free to own. For the newer ones, you’ll have to use 2 coins to own it. The good news is that the coin packages are pretty cheap on the Korean site with the cheapest package of 20 coins only costing around 3.41 dollars. The bad parts are that you’ll need to auto translate how to get an account on the Korean page (when you enter your birthday it goes year/day/month) need to use Internet Explorer to submit a payment for a credit card, and they don’t accept Paypal to my knowledge.
Other sites like Kissmanga and mangahere have everything GoManga translated for Que Sera, Sera. But there communities are likely more hostile to Hani so I’ve avoided them. Unfortunately, there’s still no official English release for Que, Sera, Sera,translated. Since I’m being frank, I need to clarify a few things. Right now, I’m only doing translations for Que Sera, Sera. I don’t currently have any plans for translating any other series. Also, like I said a lot during my translations, I’ve just been using Auto translate on my smartphone. If people want me to, I’ll tell you how to use it to be more effective if there are other raw series that you personally want to translate for yourselves or others. And I’m using Tumblr because it’d be too much work to create a blog on another site or my own website just for this.
I know this isn’t the most ideal situation, but we have to take what we can get right now and I’m not good enough to scanlate the chapters by myself. I’m doing this because I love the series so much and I want to help everybody else understand what’s happening.
