This has been the case ever since has was caught out fleeing from his North Brisbane electorate the night before a Cyclone was due to make landfall.

iconic moments from the west wing [2/??]
TWW REWATCH: Gone Quiet (3.07)
• Nancy telling Leo to settle down lol
• don’t the propellers on marine one always have to be on for like security reasons or am I making that up?
• I like how they make fun of Bartlet aka Martin Sheen’s height
• “Going myself. Always have, always will.”
“There’s nothing left to run for after this.”
“Fair enough. Always have, never will.”
• the look Bartlet and Charlie give each other when Leo’s listing the ways they communicate with the ships
• CJ overanalyzing “I’m too sexy” is me with pretty much anything
• “Peter’s recovering from heart surgery.”
“Was it serious heart surgery?”
Aldksj Bartlet please!!!
• “Toby? 🎶 I’m too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my skirt, too sexy for the other things.”🎶
Toby’s face lsksjsjs
• oh now I remember how the episode ends cause CJ wants them to have an answer for why Bartlet wants to be president and then when she asks him he’s like “yeah I thought I had it but I don’t.” *CJ looking dissapointed* *fade to black*
• Abbey broke her ankle hiking, but I wanna know how Stockard Channing broke her ankle.
• “I read Le Monde. Was it in Le Monde?”
“I don’t know, I don’t read Le Monde.”
• “Nature is to be protected from. Nature, like a woman, will seduce you with its sights and its scents and its touch...and then it breaks your ankle. Also like a woman.”
“What the hell kind of dates are you going on, Oliver?”
• lol Hal Holbrook was in the last episode of the sopranos I watched and I was like “hey that’s Albie Duncan!!”
• Bartlet not being able to contribute to the conversation
“Ok I’ll just stand over there.”
• Donna aggressively writing on her notepad
I really wanna know more about these senior citizens who visited and poured Wheatina in Donna’s keyboard and forced her to call the park police like what happened there???
• Abbey: what’s the worst they could do to me?
Oliver: Jail.
Abbey: hmm ok no what’s the second worst thing?
• Bartlet banging his head on the desk aksjssks
“Oh God I’m sorry, am I still here?”
• “The question?”
“Why do you wanna be President?”
“I don’t.”
Lmao
• this whole NEA plot is ridiculous just give them money for arts. I mean half the shit this lady’s describing doesn’t sound like my cup of tea but like Toby said it’s not for her to decide if these artists are the next Picasso or Monet because art is fucking subjective!!
Also who names their kid Tawny?
• absolutely love when Charlie gives Bartlet sass
“Did I just see you roll your eyes?”
“You’re pretty mouthy today.”
CJ Cregg is too sexy for this world
Gone Quiet (3.6)
Bruno: I don't know any other way to fight fire, Toby.
Sam: Why are you so bent on countering these idiot leaflets?
Bruno: Cause I am tired of working for candidates who make me think I should be embarrassed to believe what I believe, Sam. I'm tired of getting them elected. We all need some therapy, because somebody came along and said "liberal" means soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on Communism, soft on defense, and we're gonna tax you back to the Stone Age because people shouldn't have to go to work if they don't want to. And instead of saying "Well, excuse me, you right-wing, reactionary, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-education, anti-choice, pro-gun,'Leave it to Beaver' trip back to the fifties," we cowered in the corner and said "Please, don't hurt me." No more. I really don't care who's right, who's wrong. We're both right. We're both wrong. Let's have two parties, huh? What do you say?
3.06 Gone Quiet
Episode:
• lmao the look Bartlet and Charlie give each other as Leo’s listing the different types of ways they keep in touch with the boats
• I love that CJ’s listening to I’m too sexy, but when does she ever play music?
• “Was it serious heart surgery?” 😂
• hahaha Toby’s face when CJs dancing to I’m too sexy
• ok this was when Stockard Channing broke her ankle so they had to write it into the story and claim she broke it hiking
• when Abbey realizes that Congress doesn’t have a case against Bartlet but can still get to him by targeting her and her malpractice suits is some brilliant facial acting by Stockard Channing
• sometimes Bartlet has picture frames on his desk and sometimes he doesn’t. who moves them and why???
• lmao Bartlet “...kay.”
• “How good is our answer?
“It’s good.”
“Really? What is it?”
“……do we have one?”
“Josh!”
as if this scene wasn’t funny enough for the dialogue, it’s Bradley Whitford facial expressions that make it
• Abbey: gimme the worst scenario
Babish: 3-5 years in jail
Abbey: 😳 yeah hard pass
• Bartlet banging his head on the desk will never not be funny
• “Why do you want to be President?”
“I don’t.”
• “Did I just see you roll your eyes?
——
“You’re pretty mouthy today.”
I love Bartlet’s quips to Charlie
• oh yeah this ending always threw me off. like you expect it to be this positive, motivational ending, as most of the episodes are, with Bartlet finally figuring out the answer to why he wants to be President, and instead we get uncertainty and CJ looking like uhh what
Podcast:
• “That part where the president turns to Charlie in Leo’s address though, I almost wish instead of turning to Charlie, he just looked into the camera.”
Lmao the only way I’ll take a west wing reboot is if they all break the fourth wall and look at the camera when someone says something ridiculous
Also Abbey does look into the camera in s7
• Hrishi and Josh were confused when Babish said Abbey isn’t a medical expert since she’s a doctor. I remember being confused about this when I first watched and looking up what a medical expert is, which is someone who has specialized knowledge/skills in a certain subject/area. So while Abbey is specialized in cardiothoracic medicine, she’s not an expert on autoimmune diseases.
• talking about musicals: “How about Dear Evan Handler, (Doug) why aren't you in this episode?”
• The funding for the NEA is given to the states and they decide how to they want to distribute it.
• about 25 percent of NEA funds go to rural communities and 54 percent go to low income area, so poor and rural communities would be hit hardest when NEA budgets are cut.
• Toby’s line about connection between public life and progress in the arts is a quote from JFK.
JFK wrote to the publisher of Musical America in 1960 and the line from that letter is, “There is a connection. Hard to explain logically, but easy to feel, between achievement in public life and progress in the arts. The age of Pericles was also the age of Phidias. The age of Lorenzo de Medici was also the age of Leonardo da Vinci. The age of Elizabeth, also the age of Shakespeare, and the new frontier for which I campaigned in public life can also be a new frontier for American art.”
• There was a West Wing Easter egg in Star Trek: Voyager. On a graphic in the background, there was a list of deceased crew members. Commander J. Bartlett, Lieutenant Commander L. McGarry, Lieutenant Commander T Ziegler.
• There is a Bartlet campaign button in Gail’s fishbowl.
• Stockard Channing actually broke her foot so they had to put her in a wheelchair and write it into the story.
