Currently stanning Carlos' cop husband. I like to think this is the type of cop that Carl will grow up to be.
You know what blue lives matter people? You're right. Not all cops are bastards, but you know what? They all work for a corrupt system. A system that was literally founded on racism. And if those "good cops" that you say are on the force don't stop their fellows, if they don't report what they see and they lie to protect their fellows, then they're part of the fucking problem. The "good cops" are the ones that have left the force because they don't want to be apart of it anymore. The "good cops" are the ones that are protecting people at protests instead of hurting them. The "good cops" are the ones helping and protecting all types of children, woman, men, people transgender, gay, lesbian, non-binary, etc. And there are hell of a lot less of those cops than you think. Blue lives matter people are protecting a corrupt system full of corrupt people because of what? Because you think they protect us? Because you've turned a blind eye to the constant stories of mistreatment, murder, and abuse? You people may not all be racist but you're all part of the problem.
Here's the side of police officers people forget exists. I've also seen officers give water to people on hot days, I've had mostly good encounters with school resource officers (which are police officers), officers usually won't hesitate to rescue animals, officers will take care of lost kids until they find the kids' families … officers are trained to only get aggressive if you're resisting arrest. Of course, there are bad cops. But it's not the majority.
Police officers have families too. They put their lives on the line to protect their communities, not knowing if they'll make it home to their families. Officers who get unnecessarily aggressive 9 times out of 10 get fired, usually even jailed. If you don't give officers reasons to get aggressive with you, they shouldn't get aggressive with you, and if they do, they're a shit police officer and going against their training. ACAB pisses me off, and this is why. There are good officers. Not all officers are bad. Not even most officers are bad. They're trying to help, and it's sad that they could get murdered just for being a cop.
To clarify: No, I'm not pro Blue Lives Matter. But I care about and appreciate local police, like I should. Without them, it would be absolute anarchy and it would be terrifying to even leave the house. That's not a life I want to live. Law and order is incredibly important in society, and without anyone to uphold the law, we don't get that. Police officers are important, no matter what your opinion on them is. If you're tased or attacked in some other way by an officer, they view you as a threat, and they have every right to defend themselves, just like everyone else.
Former cop, Paul Manning, shared a story detailing how he was treated when he attempted to call-out officer misconduct. His twitter thread: https://bit.ly/2XTrg8E
There is no such thing as “Good Cops”.

Trigger warning : This may get me shadowbanned but I'm tired of not showing truth. I'll need to find out what is or isn't worth showing but this is wrong. Not all cops are good people. If one is bad and others do nothing to stop it, then to me,they're just as bad.
