Chidi- canonically straight (he says as much) but I also think he’s aro-spec

Tahani- either bisexual and hasn’t realised it or straight and an ally

One of the weirder aspects of The Good Place's worldbuilding is Janet. The show portrays Good Janets as essentially servants to the denizens of , well, the Good Place. And strangely, nobody in the show to my knowledge ever really interrogates what it says about them or the afterlife that having an entity designed to look like a human woman adhering to very rigid standards of femininity who exists solely to wait on you is considered a necessity for your afterlife to be a paradise. Or why the Bad Place equivalent to a Janet is a Janet in jeans and a leather jacket with enough bodily autonomy to tell you no.
