ok this might be a long one.
guys... i cannot tell you how badly i wanted to love veilguard, like i have been waiting for this game for so long. this is my absolute favourite video game series (it is literally what inspired my honours thesis, so big time fan here) and yet i am 5 hours in and cannot find anything that i have really enjoyed.
the voice acting is super strange, especially from neve and irelin, the dialogue is clunky and over the top and the pacing is so slow. i wasn't super into how big inquisition was but only because a lot of it was kinda empty but i still loved walking around those spaces because they felt like real spaces- not just video game sets.
and rook! there are so few opportunities to give them any character at all. i constantly feel the game pulling me in one direction instead of allowing me to choose anything for myself.
the only thing that has brought me any joy at all is seeing solas and that was for a minute at the start, but then nothing. i really hope it turns around and it just has a shaky start but, man, i right now i am just kinda sad and disappointed.
also, this is definitely a me problem, but i get really bad motion sickness and the DA games have never been a problem for me but DATV's camera controls are a nightmare and i feel super nauseous after playing. i've tried changing it in settings but either you can't or my brain is small and i can't figure out how.
