𝔯𝔢𝔭𝔲𝔱𝔞𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫 ; a review REPUTATION is Taylor Swift’s sixth studio album. The album was released on November 10, 2017, only on physical, with the streaming release held off until a week later. The said album reached #1 in the US iTunes in a matter of 6 minutes, such that there were over 800 000 sold within the first hour. After 3 years of waiting, reputation is finally here.
IN 102 COUNTRIES REPUTATION IS ON CHARTS!! AND IN A VERY SHORT TIME SPAN TOO.
So, I, being the huge swiftie that I am (I had been updated with her on instagram and twitter but not tumblr i suck i know), decided to applaud this masterpiece through an album review.
tracklist
Let's talk about the song titles. The moment Taylor released the tracklist, the moment I laid my eyes on the names of the song I instantly felt connected to each one even if I had not heard a single one yet. The titles are titles that will make you turn you head if you hear it, they are titles that are so good it hurts. I mean
...Ready For It?, End game, I Did Something Bad, Don't Blame Me, Delicate, Look What You Made Me Do, So It Goes..., Gorgeous, Getaway Car, King of My Heart, Dancing with Our Hands Tied, Dress, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Call It What You Want, New Year's Day
I LOVE IT. Especially the last songs, I am in love with the title of the down half. There will be no further explanation, there will just be reputation. Indeed, Miss Swift!
lyrics
We all know Taylor as the greatest songwriter of her generation. Taylor is known as that person who flips through your diary and writes every emotion you just couldn't describe. And, well, she writes about it. Beautifully. All her albums possessed deep well-written lyrics that captivated our little hearts in more ways than one. As for reputation though, I can say this album is something else. Lyrically, reputation is like the evolved more mature version of all her old lyrics and I love it. I won't kid around, I honestly got scared for the album because of the first three releases. They were all bops, yes, but I didn't see the lyric I was looking for. AND NOW THIS. I finally get to hear the lyrics of an album Taylor has been working on for the longest of time. I love it. Every song, every lyric, just moves you in a way. They are the best combination of words to ever exist. TAYLOR WHY DO YOU THIS?! And so many references. I freaked out over every reference I got and I was not okay. Her lyrics are everything I could ask for. You did not disappoint, Taylor.
I would put favorites but I just can't choose. It's soooo hard. It's THAT good.
beats
Okay. One of the many things I love about Taylor is that her beats are never the same. Each and every melody, each and every beat, it's different from the other. You will know that she works so hard because of these. Reputation had something from a techno-robotic-ish beat to the mellow heart-grabbing tunes. I swear, every song has a different beat. It's the best. THE BEST. It has songs that will make you dance and shake it off and songs that will make you cry and teary-eyed. I love how diverse the album is, I love how pop is expanded into so many different circles. She's the only one who can do this, I love her so much.
impact
We've all been with Taylor in one way or another. We all had seen her grow into the person that she is now. We had seen how the media has treated her and we had seen fragments of what she is going through and what she had gone through. We saw how people hated on her even without knowing the real story. We saw guys come and go. Amidst all these, we all just want Taylor to be happy. She had been writing a lot of sad songs that we just want to hug her and tell her it's gonna be okay. With Reputation; however, I saw happiness. Sparks and glows in her eyes. She seems so genuinely happy. I STAN JOE ALWYN. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR LITTLE BABY GIRL HAPPY. YOU MAKE ME CRY. Happiness looks good on you, Taylor. I swear I even thought of wedding bells at some point. I'm gonna cry.
Overall, I love the album. I love happy Taylor.
I LOVE REPUTATION. 𝔯𝔢𝔭𝔲𝔱𝔞𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫 deserves everything.
