HANDS-ON FERMENTATION WORKSHOP! When @bwbfest wrote to me asking if I’d like to conduct a workshop at their festival, I thought we could possibly try doing a hands-on one where the participants get to make their own Kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi). 😋I wasn’t even sure whether I should do it because I was still waiting for my toe to heal. And so whenever in doubt, I asked my voice. The voice replied “Do it lah!” . And then I had to find someone to assist me at a really short notice. I turned to Whei Li @sofiboyfurtography and she said yes. Yippee, got someone I could trust and rely on on my team.👍 . There was also the part about ingredients...as this was a free workshop, I had to request for sponsorship. I’m so grateful that Zenxin Organic Food said yes - where they sponsored the majority of ingredients for both the workshop as well as the sampling session.💚 @zenxinorganicfoodkl. The rest came out of my pocket which means I had to find a way to cover the costs. And so, I wrote a book and launched in on that day itself - that’s how “Fun with Ferments” came about. The workshop was sooo popular that it got sold out within a few days. Many people wrote to me asking whether they could still join and I decided we could open it up to observer seats. I’m not sure whether that was a good idea or not, because not all who signed up for those seats actually turned up. Something to think about… And then @thebreakfastclubsg who has been following me on IG also wanted to come so I invited her to be my official photographer. What a great decision that turned out to be as all these B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L photos are all captured by her. Thank you to all the participants who committed to attending and for coming on time.
