I've wanted to revisit this idea for a while now, this time I even included some new faces.

I was also going to give them personalities this time, but I figured it'd still be more fun to leave that up to you.

Back with more of the KATFL role swap of the king and knight. (Which I named it, The Swapped Sworn Partners, guess that reference!) I changed a few details on both sides, while trying something different with the designs. I might continue to make a few adjustments here and there, maybe with the mask or outfits. But here are a few more facts about this AU that I added in!

HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, KING DEDEDE!

King Dedede arrived in this forgotten land all alone near the snowy area of Winter Horns. He had to spend almost a week there, struggling to survive. Eventually, his luck turns around when he discovers Wonderia Remains and had found a supply of fresh food. Which unfortunately that belonged to the Beast Pack, which led to him getting attacked and almost getting captured by them. Dedede escapes to Everbay Coast and eventually to the Alivel Mall in Natural Plains where he encountered three of his kidnapped Waddle Dees being chased by Gorimondo. The king had fought to protect his Dees and managed to win the battle. The Waddle Dees were who told Dedede about Waddle Dee Town along with Kirby and Bandana traveling around the lands to save them all. This is how King Dedede found his way to town, where he becomes the protector Waddle Dee Town. He keeps an eye on everyone, sometimes lying around at times and has another duel between him and Gorimondo. (Where it becomes more troubling thanks to the gorilla making fun of him at times)

The condition of Dedede’s robe and outfit was due to him getting attacked by the Awoofies and other beasts. Right now, he doesn’t like his clothes looking filthy and ruined. But he doesn’t have any spares clothes so he’s stuck like this. There’s scratch marks on his hammer, as he dealt with a much stronger Awoofy.

Just like in the canon game, Kirby would eventually receive the blueprint of the Dedede’s hammer after winning the Dedede Cup. This of course replaces the Masked Hammer with Dedede’s hammer being the second evolution. (Or maybe third? Not sure, you guys can decide)

THE LONE SWORDMAN, META KNIGHT!

Meta Knight had arrived in the forgotten lands first before Kirby did. This strict knight has now become cold hearted after he had joined the Beast Pack for strange reasons. His bat wings were now feathery to resemble the ravens and was given a new mask, making him the leader and commander of the beasts, mostly towards the ravens. It was confirmed by Sailor Waddle Dee after getting saved at Originull Wasteland that Meta Knight was present during the raid of Waddle Dee Town, making sure every single Waddle Dee there was secured and locked up. She had been the only Dee to have seen him, believing that some of the Dees might have mistaken him for those birds.

Meta’s broken armor remained the same with the M logo on his shoulder pad fading away a bit. He now wears dark gloves instead of his gauntlets. Under his mask, Meta Knight has red paint under his eyes. It’s noted that during him being brainwashed, he doesn’t wear his cape, though there is a chance that his cape and old mask is not thrown away. (Kirby may come across it after his duel with the knight)

And now meet…

THE PRIMAL SWORDSMAN, FORGO META KNIGHT!

After his defeat at Winter Horns, Meta Knight had grown much stronger and with Fecto Forgo’s powers, was given much more strength and even more weapons. This knight shows no fairness or honor like he usually does as he goes all crazy against Kirby. The first phase of the battle plays the same back at Winter Horns. However, the second phase would have Meta Knight replace his broken mask with a much sturdier and harder mask to break, his eyes glowing red and now wields two swords. Once he reaches to low health, Forgo Meta’s desperation to destroy Kirby has lend him ditches the two swords and replaces it with a much larger and sturdier sword! (Think of it like in Kirby’s Return to Dreamland of the Super Sword ability) Kirby would have to use Galaxia to not only fight back, but destroy the large sword and mask.

Forgo Meta Knight’s mask and the two swords would be part of the sword ability upgrade just like how the masked hammer in canon is. Just like the Morpho Knight sword ability, Kirby would wield a large sword after enough swings, but unlike the Morpho sword ability, it won’t stay out for long. However, Kirby can use the feather wings to fly to higher places instead of floating (Think of it like Wing Kirby)
