Went on a 3-Day remembrance for fallen soldiers. I dedicated my Goruck event to 2nd LT. Emily J.T. Perez, the highest ranking Black and Hispanic woman cadet in corps history. She was killed by a bomb in Iraq at the young age of 23. I selected her bc I wanted someone that was a role model to other black and hispanic women. This wa the time to remember all of those that gave their lives for our freedom. Thank you for your service. 💕 At the same time, I earned my Goruck HTL patch. One of the toughest events I’ve done. I am still recovering from sleep, foot blisters, swelling and digestion. This event broke me but at the same time reminded me how strong I am when I set my mind to just do. Training for next weeks #GORUCKTough and B2B #GORUCKLight continues with #redwingowasso. Shoe problems in the 11th hour. Far left and far right insoles failed miserably yesterday after mile 3 under 70lbs. Center right is prescription for failing arches, but under heavy weight and over long distances the lower insole moves around. Took center left out for a spin tonight with just 30lbs, but kept the speed up to generate heat. Felt a little negative pressure in the arch space, but otherwise they performed. Will take them out again tomorrow with 70lbs to see if they hold and do their job. Planning on taking center right along during the GORUCK Tough Saturday as backup. Grateful that Red Wing Shoes in Owasso was open today. David was very helpful and made a good effort TRYING to get a grip on what I need solid shoes for... and why.
