I just finished my monthly Cassandra Clare re-read, this time being Ghosts of the Shadow Market, and I have come to a great conclusion.

By the start of The Wicked Powers, Kit will have spent about three years learning to live with Church, our resident grumpy old man. And I can't help but believe that this will result in him being so used to cranky animals that when he meets Irene for the first time, he'll be able to get immediately on her good side. Which of course, will be like a shot through Ty's heart.

I thought a lot about doing this aesthetic, as it is not of an specific character. I was a little bit insecure. But I needed to speak about something and I felt that somehow you would understand me. A lot of you don’t know, but I’m Brazilian and we had our elections last sunday. Here, voting is obligatory to people between 18-70 years old and we had to vote for six political positions, including President. In our system, we have a lot of parties and to be elected (president, in this case), the candidate has to have 50% of the votes plus one. If none of them get all the votes needed, we vote again in the two most voted.

The problem started when we realized that the most popular candidate was a man who only uses hate speech when it comes to women, LGBTQ and black people. He got 46% of the votes. We have more than 147 million brazilians voting, and 46% chose hate and intolerance.

The second most popular is a man that his party rules the country since 2002, the party of the president who was arrested for corruption, the party of the president who suffered the impeachment in 2016. He made 29% of the votes.

I’m scared. I really am. I fear for not only my life, but everyone’s. October 28th we’ll vote again, and it’s almost certain that hate will win. And we’ll suffer greatly for it.
