I see everybody talking about how the Hound is going to kick some sense into Ayra, and I absolutely agree.

But have we considered Davos finding Gendry stone drunk in his tent, and the fatherly talk that needs to happen on that side? Because I’m here for it.

Davos lost his entire family, and might just not find being a Lord all that it’s cracked up to be anymore, is all I’m saying.

Arya’s New Weapon and Gendry’s purpose in season 8

Okay guys I was re-watching the Gendry/Arya reunion scene and it hit me. I admit its a bit crazy but here me out. In Season 3 the scene between Gendry and Melisandre when he is being sold, she says: You are more than they can ever be you will make kings rise and fall. Now as far as I know Gendry doesn’t have any secret powers or is a more skilled warrior than Jon or Arya or any of the mains however he does have the power to make things aka making weapons !! Cue Arya’s weapon. Gendry is going to make Arya a weapon which will be used to defeat the night king. Gendry will make a king fall by making the weapon that will end him and consequently make a king rise (or queen its open to debate) I believe this explains why they bought his character back after all these seasons. It ties in with Melisandre’s words- and gives his character an important role in the final storyline. As much as I’d love to imagine they just bought him back to be with Arya (my shipper heart died when they reunited...) this is GoT people and they don’t just bring characters back for no reason or leave loose ends.

Why they made Dany non-redeemable ...

Maybe I’m the biggest clown to ever clown but I’ve been thinking quite a bit about why they had Dany destroy KL like that, why it wasn’t enough to burn down the Red Keep and kill thousands of innocents in there. For a show that loves its grey characters, they allowed her to keep none of her shades. Don’t get me wrong - this is definitely who she is - but I am surprised they fully went to the dark side with her character, without leaving any ambiguity or room for excuses.

Maybe it was all just for visuals and shockers which, to be fair, could very possibly be.

However, we’ve learned in two different episodes that to get to Cersei, Dany would need to kill a lot of innocents in the Red Keep, right? So, why not just let her do that - attack the Red Keep and kill everyone inside in the process. Wouldn’t that have been evil enough?

But what if there’s another reason why D&D wanted her shoved into the none-redeemable-territory like this? Because now everyone and their mother (not counting hard core stans who’d even root for her if she’d feast on little kids) knows that she needs to go. They left Dany without a single shred of greyness and imo there has to be a reason for it.

And I think the reason is called Jon Snow. While I wouldn’t mind Arya taking out all the bad guys of the season, I highly doubt that after the Night King, she’ll get this kill as well. I firmly believe it’s going to be Jon who kills Dany. Which is highly problematic on so many levels: she’s his aunt, his queen and the woman he (at least until very recently) slept with and pretended to be in love with.

Now, if Dany would have just destroyed the Red Keep, a lot more people would have excused that massacre and justified it with her recently acquired trauma. Watch some YT reaction vids of 8x04 - people were rooting for her to be a dragon and attack the Red Keep. So, imagine now that Jon were to kill her, only to have it revealed in the very same episode that he never loved her in the first place, that he was playing her and then he goes on and marries his real love - Sansa Stark - an hour after he killed his ex-girlfriend. Look, I’m not saying that D&D wouldn’t go there - because they definitely would - but this shit would have been highly problematic. In this scenario, Jon exiling and punishing himself to the wall or the real north would have made a lot more sense.

But instead, this show that is all about grey characters, opted to push Dany so far that no one can seriously root for her anymore. That her impending murder has become a necessity for the good of the realm and the safety of everyone who lives in it. They couldn’t leave any ounce of grey in her, so that killing her would - without doubt - be justice.

Or maybe I’m just reaching. Lol.

how gendry will be the king with arya by the end

so i’ve been rewatching game of thrones and feel like my third eye opened. so i’m at the part where we see gendry is captured and he is talking to davos about how highborns suck and stuff. and davos agrees and says the only reason why he accepted being a lord was for his son to have a better life then what he had (because he grew up at flea bottom just like gendry) and when davos says that gendry has a look in his eyes where what davos just said truly hit him hard.

now continuing with the whole davos thing because i swear he will be important by the end i swear! we see him have a moment with arya in last nights episode. where we see arya be badass and him looking at her with a current something in his eyes. him seeing her fight the way she did did something to him.

okay so i know a lot of people are kind of hesitant about even considering that gendry and arya will be the ones on the throne because it is so out of character for both of them. it’s weird for arya because she has always hated the idea of being a lady let alone a whole ass queen but like she said to the hound on episode two she has changed a lot since season one. and like we have been shown time and time again she is not just a simple character who is just badass. she can love and she can rule when still being badass. and it’s weird for gendry because he hates highborns (besides arya and jon) but after davos said the thing about becoming a lord for his son to have a better life i could totally see gendry deciding to become the king because he probably shares that same value with putting your kids above everyone else including yourself. we see this through his eyes when davos says this.

and why is davos important in all of this? because he will become the hand for gendry and arya. why else would they have those scenes of him interacting with both arya and gendry? also why else would be there hand? thrion has not had a scene with either of them really at all, and if anything he is going to end up on side with dany (if she lives) or sansa (if she lives) . varys? never had a scene with either arya or gendry, wouldn’t make much sense.

i’m so sorry this is such a mess akdhakabak but i just had to rant for a sec.

I have more thoughts! This time on ships.

I don’t like Dany’s chances of making it to the end of the show. It’s shaping up like both queens will beet their ends in the coming episodes. Whether in this battle or via suicide (Cersei more likely to go this way) or something else. Possibly execution.

Also, the last dragon will die. Both queens had 3 children. Both will see all of them die. And Cersei either isn’t pregnant (faking to keep her lovers at heel) or will lose it to miscarriage or stillbirth. Or die before it can be born.

After Dany’s demise, I think Jon will go back North. To the Wall or farther to, as Tormund called it, the real North, and live the rest of his days as a Snow, no longer a Stark or a Targaryen.

I think Jamie has gone South to make sure Cersei dies, but will die with her. Possibly in Brienne’s arms, fulfilling both Cersei’s prediction that the twins would die together and Jamie’s wish to die in the arms of the woman he loves. (My heart says he’ll survive and go back to Brienne, but my head says “redemption in death”.)

Ironically, I think Arya and Gendry have the best shot at a happy ending. Arya’s status has been a sticking point since the beginning. Gendry’s has conversations with men who took titles despite not wanting them and regretting it. I think Arya will complete her List, possibly by giving the Hound a mercy kill while the Mountain and Cersei die in other ways. With Dany no longer in the running, Gendry won’t have Storm’s End anymore, though depending on who takes over, they might feel bound by the promise. Regardless, Gendry will refuse the title and the lands. He and Arya will be together as they’ve always been. Not Lady Stark and Lord Baratheon. Just Arya and Gendry.

Tyrion and Sansa could go either way. Tyrion’s in a pretty precarious position with 2 queens, one that wants him dead, and one that would kill him if she found out about his and Varyus’ talks. But I don’t think he’s going to die.

Sansa, it wouldn’t surprise me if she arrives with either a healed army or surprise backup to pick off whatever’s left of the two queens’ armies. With the Targaryeons and Baratheon either dead or abdicated, this leaves the people to choose. Sandra’s northern supporters will want her as Queen. Tyrion may still have some in Kings Landing who remember him from the Battle of Blackwater or just prefer a man on the throne.

Based on a few things from the books, it’s highly probsbly GRRM intends these two to either rule together, or for Sansa to be Queen of the North and Tyrion to rule the South, no longer 7 kingdoms.

Ruling together would be ideal, but Sansa seems to have planted her flag firmly in Winterfell and probably isn’t interested in living in Kings Landing anymore.

Alternately, Tyrion dies and Sansa becomes the sole ruler of the seven kingdoms. Probably never to marry again, but providing herself heirs on her own terms with men who do not have power over her.

My dark horse is that Sansa and Tyrion get remarried, Tyrion becomes a Stark, and they rule an independent North, Sansa being the true power.

And she finally invites him to share her bed.
