Kayne did such an incredible job of threading the needle between intricate, well thought out plans that were so well designed they couldn't fail in their aims and completely failing to understand what he actually wants to land gracefully in failing yet again. It's truly beautiful. You can almost be convinced he's succeeding.
#Kayne#He's so good at doing things#It's sometimes hard to tell he's failing terribly#Have you ever watched someone make a minor error in math#And then proceed to do all these really complicated equations and processes to get the answer#And it's a beautiful sight#Wow are they talented#But also they forgot to carry the one way back in the beginning#And everything they're doing is completely wrong (and unnecessary) because of that#That's what Kayne is doing the entire time#With the Wager#With Arthur#Halfway to a conclusion he put something terrible in his thought process#Got too scared#Didn't go far enough or went to far#And now he's here and he doesn't want to retrace his steps#He felt uncertain#Which I am never going to be normal about. He admitted it. He has enough doubt to stop. Enough reason to.#But what other endings can he have?#Something about fate and something about watching Arthur spit in the face of the King in Yellow and he can't just take this lying down#He's going to bring the world down with him
