My “Go Vegan” Plan
For me personally, trying to go vegan completely cold turkey has been too difficult. Animal product foods are unfortunately still tempting and I am working on getting better at saying no, but I have messed up multiple times. So going cold turkey isn’t working for me.
But I can’t give up on going vegan.
Instead, I have devised a plan to slowly cut things out of my diet *by product* slowly over many weeks. For me, the hardest thing to give up will be cheese and dairy, especially desserts, so I broke up the category of dairy further.
I’m thinking that with this plan, I will be much more likely to end up being entirely vegan long term, whereas going cold turkey eventually makes me want to give up entirely. I’m also hoping that moving into university residency in a week will make the switch easier.

So, THIS is my personal plan I have devised to cut out animal products over time and eventually permanently go vegan!
Aug. 25th to Sept. 1st - no pork
Sept. 2nd to 8th - no pork or beef
Sept. 9th to 15th - no beef, pork, or chicken
Sept. 16th to 22nd - no pork, beef, chicken, or eggs
Sept. 23rd to 29th - no pork, beef, chicken, eggs. Can only have desserts or sweets with dairy in them 3 times a week.
Sept. 30th to Oct. 6th - no pork, beef, chicken, eggs. Can only have desserts/sweets with dairy 3 times a week, can only have other dairy products (including cheese) during supper.
Oct. 7th to 13th - no pork, beef, chicken, eggs. Can only have dairy products 3 times/meals a week.
Oct. 14th to 27th - no pork, beef, chicken, eggs. Can only have dairy products one day of the week.
Oct. 28th to Nov. 10th - no pork, beef, chicken, eggs. Can only have dairy products ONE TIME each week.
