Kratos has the biggest dead wife syndrome ever in all of media 💔💔
Happy Mother's day to Lysandra & Faye. 🫶❤️
Also honorary mother day's mention to Callisto, Freya, and Sif. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💝💝💝💝💝💝
So I have now completed this page of God of War drawings I’ve been making
This page was created a couple weeks ago when I went on a mass binge and obtained 98 new pose reference photos, so I felt I needed to start marking them for future use, writing down potential characters, and I then used them here. I then left the page alone after I came back home, but I decided spontaneously yesterday to return to it
They all come from @mellon-soup once more
So first we have Angrboda holding Wolf Atreus because that was the vibe that first image gave me, even if that’s not a wolf. I don’t know how to draw wolves and Angrboda is still very complicated to draw, so it frankly took forever, but I think it turned out alright in the end. Atreus wanted to experience the feeling of being carried around like a pet
Then we have a young Lysandra and Kratos, though cards on the table, I had no idea how old I was making them as I drew, so there’s probably some inconsistencies in their designs. But by the end, they’re probably close to Sons of Sparta times. Kratos also accidentally ended up a bit shorter than Lysandra here, but that was because the head position was giving me trouble, so shh. Maybe Lysandra was a tall child. I am also aware that in canon, while there were some feelings between Lysandra and Kratos at this time, Kratos chose not to pursue her until they were adults, but shush, let me draw young love
It was after drawing that one that I realized I wanted to draw something that did not involve Kratos, as I already felt I draw him too often, but my other intended references both had him, so I had to hunt down a reference I marked that did not include him. Unfortunately, when you only have brainrot for about 8 characters in the series, you end up reusing those same characters a lot in your markings, and Kratos is in most of them
I technically did not succeed because the next drawing includes him, but he’s a baby and Callisto’s the main subject, so it’s probably fine. I cleverly kept the cat references because I figured them being baby sized might be helpful, and lo and behold, that’s what I used it for. Unfortunately I think the angle may have left Callisto’s face looking wonky, but hopefully it’s good enough. I’ve wanted to draw Callisto with a baby Kratos for a while, as I’m very curious about her mental state and initial feelings towards her son at that time, given what little we know of her relationship with Zeus. It probably wasn’t good, but I imagine her feelings on Kratos were very complicated and messy. I don’t think I entirely got across my interpretation of her feelings here, but hopefully it’s serviceable enough
And then finally after scouring for a non-Kratos reference, I found this one I could use for Faye. I admit, it’s not the best, I think her forehead’s wonky looking and I could never find a good expression for her, but hey, at least I got to try drawing more of her design, as well as the Leviathan Axe, which will likely be useful experience. I don’t really have much to say other than that, it’s another “final sketch” drawing and the main point was to find something that wasn’t Kratos that I wanted to draw
But yeah, those have been my recent drawings. I kind of want to go draw from more of my references, but I also need to mark more of them, and probably expand my character roster
Probably requires actually starting to play the damn games, but I think my brain is actively preventing me from doing so at this rate. But one day
Magma sketch from today with @oxy-moon , @iub-08 and @mingergin . I kinda got in late cause I had collage stuff but here’s my stuff;D
Bonus drawings from the other day during class!
As soon as I heard Kratos saying he knew how to play the lyre, I immediately thought he’d play with Calliope, so this came into being. It’s probably one of the reasons he won’t play anymore.
Honestly, I’m just obsessed with creating art of Kratos with Calliope, before his deal with Ares. In the GoW games before the Norse saga, he showed his absolute love for his daughter. Making a flute for her, kissing her as she was sleeping (even though it was an illusion), giving up Elysium just so she could still live on. Like, I can’t stop obsessing over the love he has for her. It’s taking over my life. 😅
Side note: I took artistic liberty with Calliope and Lysandra’s looks, just cause I wanted to.
Happy Mothers Day
GOD OF WAR: ASCENSION - Alecto manipulating Kratos using his love for Lysdrandra
Some Lysandra headcanons I have:
Lysandra is named after her paternal grandmother, Lysimache
Her Father's name is Alexandros, and her Mother's name is Damara
Her favorite color is blue (of course)
She loses fibulae all the time the way modern ppl lose hair ties, so she's always buying them & it drives Kratos crazy
She actually met and saw Kratos first when they were younger, decided "I need to marry him", and convinced her Father to arrange their marriage, and he did
Shes the woman that puts her hair strands on the side of the bath walls
She's good at javelin & spear throwing
Also actually likes cooking, she finds it theraputic and relaxing
She likes to do Calliope's hair
