𖤝 According to history, the Hexe appeared a little over a hundred years ago. Born human, this sub-race of people are equipped with the ability to perform Hexerei, witchcraft. Whilst the average supernatural’s power is given, a Hexe must earn their craft through meticulous studying and razor-sharp intentions. It is through the ingenuity and ambition of man, a Hexe can push the boundaries of a mastered sorcery into legendary. Although their magic is looked upon as unnatural and somewhat feared, it is through their expertise that the city of Ravenwood was pulled from the rubble and into the light, catapulting the land into a brilliant empire. In order to continuously push the bounds, a Hexe must perform a practice known as an attunement. Met with a deadly exchange, an attunement is the taking of a supernatural’s life to amplify the spellcasting of a Hexe. The monarchy, afraid of the power balance, has barred the use of attunements, making any practice is punishable by death. However, there are faint stirrings of a rogue group of Hexe that believe they should be allowed to live their fullest potential just as other supernaturals.
Misc. Lore
𖤝 A Hexe is immune to the gifts of the Immortalis.
𖤝 There are three schools of Hexerei: Praktische, Chaos and Trügerisch. A Hexe can study between the three but is proficient in one.
𖤝 Unlike sorceries, Hexerei can fail often resulting in catastrophic events.
𖤝 Grace is a renowned inventor, continuing the work of her mentor to bring the city to glory. She is the mastermind behind floating airships and homes.
𖤝 Tomax is the creator of Incarndine, also known as Plasmafruit.
Would anyone care for a plasma bat cupcake with a side of emotional unease?

Grace: Helena, welcome! It’s so nice to finally put a face to the name. Caleb came to me about your… difficult situation. He only partly heeded my advice, of course, but I am glad to see you with him now. I’ve whipped up something special for the two of you.
Caleb: Grace works magic with plasma fruit where lesser chefs have failed.
Grace: It’s reassuring to know I haven’t devoted my life to spellcasting for nothing.
Helena: Wait. When you said magic, you meant actual-
Grace: [laughs] One supernatural being questioning the existence of another?
Helena: Sorry, but I didn’t even know vampires existed until I was becoming one. It’s a bit disorienting being confronted by everything in the world I never thought possible at once.
Grace: Oh, honey, I’ve got potions that can help if you’re feeling out of sorts. All you need to do is ask.
Caleb: Grace is an alchemist, primarily. She can bottle up your wildest fantasies or your greatest nightmares.
Grace: Though I’d recommend against drinking both at once.
Helena: Uh, thanks. But I’m kind of avoiding mysterious substances for the time being.
Grace: Well, lucky for you, I’m only offering baked goods tonight.
Helena: [gasps] They’re adorable! And we can… eat them? But how-
Caleb: Don’t question Grace’s sorcery. Just enjoy it.

Grace: I suppose it’s time we address the stilettoed elephant in the room.
Helena: [through mouthful of frosting] What does that mea-
[mortified] Oh my god, is this an intervention? We’ve had a couple wild nights out, that’s all.
[long judgmental silence]
Helena: Honestly, she’s not so bad. I mean, she’s better than she was. And if her evil master plan hasn’t come to light by now, then I don’t-
Grace: Perhaps her master plan is convincing you there is none.
Helena: Why must she always be plotting? Why can’t she just be trying? Maybe she wants to change.
Grace: [snorts] I highly doubt that.
Helena: So, what, I’m just some gullible idiot she’s manipulating like putty? No offense, you seem nice and all, but you don’t even know me.
Caleb: [gently] She’s not calling you stupid, Helena, but she does have a point.
Helena: Didn’t you tell me once there’s no such thing as a good vampire? Yes, she’s done things I might have found deplorable when I was still a human — and they don’t exactly make me feel all warm and fuzzy now. But it is different for us, and you know it. We can’t change the fact that killing is in our nature and it takes everything in us to resist. Haven’t you faltered too?
Caleb: Not like she has.
Helena: [hesitantly] You’ve never killed… not even once?
Caleb: By my own hand, no — though that hardly means they’re clean. I’ve still witnessed her acts, even benefited from them, and never intervened.
Helena: So what you really mean is you have no right to lecture me.
Grace: [severely] Frankly, what I’m about to say is relevant to both of you.
It’s the pleasure she takes in inflicting pain that concerns me most — and I don’t mean pain only in the physical sense. Caleb, you can attest to that. My God, the things she’s done — to humans, to other vampires, to you. And for what? It may have once been self-preservation, but it’s become entertainment, and God forbid anyone gets in the way of her fun. Have you told Helena the stories you’ve told me?
(Headcanon is that Tomax is an apprentice wand-maker, so I’m having him learn crystal crafting, he’s also a student of Silversweater. Grace is very much a student of Ember in my headcanon)
