Two ideas:

First: genderfluid Grace. Any pronouns. Gender doesn't matter when you live in space.

Second: Rocky and Simon seeing Grace nearly die from starvation [being mutated makes Simon able to go longer without food] and that scares them

So when they have more food available for him, they're both constantly giving him food, to the point that it borders on feederism, and Simon watching Grace eat like that one scene on good omens of Crowley staring at Aziraphale while he eats [iykyk]

i was imagining it with ryland feeding simon actually, but the opposite scenario is just as good 🤤

i hc grace to be chubby before space, and then yk he got muscular because of the muscle stimulation while he was in the coma. when he mentions that to simon and rocky, they both look at each other because they know EXACTLY what they’re going to do. he’s never going to starve again.

at first it starts slow. when they’re eating, simon just ask him if he wants another portion. ryland usually accepts.

then, they have enough synthetised food that simon can start cooking actual meals. he takes an actual liking in cooking, but what he prefers is baking. he starts baking a lot, and makes ryland taste tests everything.

then, simon suggests they don’t waste any food so they should really eat the gigantic batch of cookies he made. except he lets ryland eat most of it, and ryland doesn’t mind at all. his appetite has gotten really big, especially for sweets.

one day, simon and rocky are watching ryland laying on the beach from the house, sitting side by side on the steps.

"what do you think, rocky? has he gained enough weight?"

"hmmm no. make grace eat more."

simon chuckles. "you know, he’s already pretty fat, i don’t think—" he turns to look at rocky. "wait. you like this, don’t you?"

rocky seems to hesitate. "…maybe."

simon laughs in disbelief. "holy shit. i thought i was the only one. he’s looking so good like this, isn’t he?"

"yes yes yes. but not enough."
